Ideally all post-graduate degrees, especially professional ones like management must be pursued after a few years of work experience. A few years of work experience, provides substantial understanding at least few aspects of management and hence one would be able to appreciate what is taught in the class room much better.
Moreover if one pursues a job in a professional corporation like L&T for say five to seven years, then the option also widens to include one year MBA programmes. Such a programme will let the candidate reduce the amount of time he or she spends in the class room, and being a lateral placement, it will help add tremendous value in terms of pay packages, position etc.
Even if he decides to quit after a few years, he still stands a better chance of getting into a good institution. One should also keep in mind that unless a candidate gets into the top 20 30 colleges, life after an MBA is a quite a struggle. Having obtained at position in a good corporation like L& T it does make sense to take up the job first.
