The National Institute of Fashion Technology invites applications for admission to the following programmes:

Bachelor Programmes:

1. B.Des.(Design)

• Fashion Design
• Leather Design
• Accessory Design
• Textile Design
• Knitwear Design
• Fashion Communication

2. B.FTech (Apparel Production)

Eligibility:

The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination. 
OR
General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
OR
Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in Foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.
OR
A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.
OR
3 or 4 year diploma recognised by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.

Note: For B.FTech(Apparel Production), candidate must be pass in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.  Upper age limit for applying in bachelor programmes is  restricted to 23 years as on 1st November, 2009

Master's Programmes:

1. Master of Design (M.Des)

Eligibility:
B.Sc. (Textiles & Clothing)
OR
Bachelor in Applied Arts (Fashion Design / Visual Communication / Graphic Design / Industrial Design / Interior Design / Multimedia Design / Product Design / Textiles & Accessories.
OR
B.Arch.
OR
Design Diploma / Degree  from NIFT / NID / International University of repute         
Note: Candidates having additional industry experience in the relevant fields would be preferred

2.Master of Fashion Management (M.F.M)

Eligibility:
A three years Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities or Diploma in Accessory / Fashion Design / FIT from NIFT only.
Note: For foreign Bachelor’s Degree, not recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, proper certification by a National Body constituted in the country concerned for granting equivalence will have to be produced.

3. Master of Fashion Technology (M.FTech)

Eligibility:
B.E. / B.Tech. (Textiles / Apparel / Mechanical / Industrial / Production / Electronics / Computer / Information Technology)

Note: Candidates appearing for their qualifying examinations can also apply provided they complete all formalities by June 30, 2010.

How to apply: Prospectus along with Application Form can be obtained from the selected branches of Axis Bank across India on payment of Rs.250/- or by post enclosing a DD of Rs.350/- in favour of NIFT, New Delhi from all NIFT Centres. 

Selection Procedure: All eligible candidates will have to appear for a written entrance examination at the Examination Centres opted by them. Selcted candidates will be called for a GD followed by an Interview.

Scholarship: Subsidy for students whose parental annual income is

• Upto 1 Lakh is 70% (amount of fee to be paid Rs 10,000)
• Between 1 Lakh to 2 Lakh is 50% (amount of fee to be paid Rs 20,000)
• Upto 3 Lakh is 25% (amount of fee to be paid Rs 30,000)

Note: Full fee need to be deposited by all students before the last date of fee depositing. For those who submit the subsidy form, the reimbursement of fee equal to the amount of subsidy will be made to the deserving candidates by the earliest.

• Last date of Submission of Application Form: January 9, 2010
• Written Entrance Examination: February 21, 2010
• Declaration of Written Examination Result: First week of April, 2010
• Situation Test / GD / Interviews: April - May, 2010
• Declaration of Final Results for Bachelor Programmes: Mid of May, 2010
• Declaration of Final Results for Master Programmes : Mid of June, 2010
