State Bank of India invites applications from Indian citizens for appointment as Probationary Officers(POs) and Probationary Officers (Rural Business) (POs-RB).
No. of Vacancies: 4500 (Gen-2172, OBC-1161, ST-522, SC-645) & 196 for PWD category
Eligibility:
1. General Category & Others Category : 60% aggregate marks in XIIth standard or in Diploma after Xth standard and 55% aggregate marks in Graduation.
2. SC / ST / PWD Category : 55% aggregate marks in XIIth standard or in Diploma after Xth standard and 50% aggregate marks in Graduation.
Note: CS (Company Secretary), where graduation is not compulsory, the General & others
category candidates should have secured minimum 60% aggregate marks in XIIth standard or Diploma (55% in case of SC/ST/PWD candidates) and pass marks in above examination.
Age Limit as on 28.02.2010:
- POs - Not below 21 years and not above 30 years
- POs (RB) - Not below 21 years and not above 30 years (relaxable by 5 years for candidates who have worked in Scheduled Commercial Bank(s) in the field of Agriculture / Rural Business)
Selection Procedure: Written exam followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview of shortlisted candidates.
How to apply: Application process is completely online . An application fee of Rs.500/- (Rs.50/- in case of SC/ST/PWD) is to be paid at any branch of SBI and the receipt has to be retained. The original receipt should be produced at the time of written test.
Note: Candidates should keep a copy each of the Application printout and Fee Receipt for their record.
