    What the programmes cover:

    • Facilitate knowledge and development of capabilities such as learning to learn, problem solving and management skills.
    • Updates knowledge base of teachers/students in their respective specialised fields.
    • Involves classroom teaching and laboratory work.
    • Offers group discussion, home assignments, individual and group projects, independent study, remedial instruction, industry-based instruction, seminars, expert lecture sessions, field visit to industry etc.
       

    Note: The Ministry of HRD formed four regional-based NITTTR at Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai and Kolkata in 1967, to meet the requirements of developing polytechnic education. NITTTR, Chandigarh, has been conducting short-term courses (industry-oriented and practice-based), in addition to organising AICTE-sponsored Induction Training Programmes (ITP) since June 2001.

    Eligibility:

    • You must have a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in the appropriate branch with 50% marks.
       
    • For teachers - You must be a permanent faculty member of AICTE-recognised polytechnic.

      Set criteria for each programme:
       
    • Master of Technology Engineering Education - You must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy OR Master’s degree in Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry from a recognized University or its equivalent with minimum 50% marks.
       
    • Master of Engineering Manufacturing Technology – You must have Bachelor’s degree in from Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Industrial Engineering from a recognized University or its equivalent with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
       
    • Master of Engineering Construction Technology & Management – You must have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or its equivalent with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
       
    • Master of Engineering Computer Science & Engineering – You must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering/Electronics Engineering/ Electrical Engineering/Instrumentation Engineering/Information Technology from a recognized University or its equivalent with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
       
    • Master of Engineering Instrumentation & Control - You must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering /Electronics Engineering/ Instrumentation and Control Engineering from a recognized University or its equivalent with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
       
    • Master of Engineering Electronics & Communication Engineering - You must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from a recognized University or its equivalent with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

      Note: You must have a post qualification experience of at least 2 years (3 years in case of AMIE/IETE after diploma) in teaching/industry/research organization before enrolling for the programme.

    Selection Procedure:

    • 50% weightage will be given to the marks obtained in the degree level qualifying examination.
    • 20% weightage will be given to the teaching/industrial/research experience gained after Engineering Graduation Degree. Here, 2 marks per year of experience will be awarded with a maximum of 20 marks.
    • 10% weightage will be given for attending the short-term courses sanctioned by QIP / ISTE / AICTE / IMPACT or any other such courses or workshops conducted by QIP Centre of not less than one week.
    • 5% weightage will be given for publication of research paper in journals.
    • 5% weightage will be given for significant contribution in Community Development Programme.
    • 5% weightage will be given for preparing the monograph/book writing / preparing the course materials / preparing the course manuals.5% weightage will be given for the consultancy done for the industry.
