THE Short Service Commission is granted for a term of 10 years, extandable to 14 years, subject to service requirement, performance and willingness of the candidate.

Age: 19 to 23 years
Eligibility:
- You must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as main subjects.
- You must be a graduate in any disciplne with 65% marks in aggregate.
Physical standards:
- Height and Weight:
Minimum height - Men (162.5 cms), Women (152 cms)
- Eye sight:
Minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision - 6/6, 6/9 corectable to 6/6, 6/6/. You should not be colour /night blind.
Selection procedure:
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview by Service Selection Board in August and November 2010 at Bangalore.
- The 5-day interview has two stages:
- Stage I, conducted on the first day,include intelligence test, picture perception test and group discussion
- Stage II, conducted over 5 days, include Psychological tests, group task and personal interview.
Note: The candidates qualifying the interview, shall have to undergo a naval training programme.
Training programme:
- Naval orientation course - January, 2011 onwards, at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala.
