  • THE parliament of India is expected to pass four major bills on accreditation of institutions, prevention of unfair practices, entry of foreign institutions, and educational tribunals. The Standing committee of Ministry of HRD has invited the public to come up with their comments, on the following bills, which are under its consideration.

While the last date for receipt of comments is June 25 for all three bills except the foreign education bill for which it is June 30, we feel that considering the far reaching consequences these bills have, more time should have been given. Careers360 has made a representation to the committee to be invited for an oral presentation whenever the committee meets to consider the bills.

So, we invite you readers to submit your comments, which we will then collate and present to the committee. We are also in the process of contacting the members of the committee individually to put forth issues that might affect the future of the students of this country. You may post a comment here or send it as an email to editor@ careers360.com.

  • Indian government doesnot has a defined system regarding the education in India they must think about the merit of the students and remove the quota or reservation system for JEE and other exams or for recruitment.measuring a students capability on the basis of their mark must be avoided strictly...i request them a lot for this..

  • Whether it is corruption, giving bribes, indulging in any crimes, doing unjust to anyone or cheating to anybody, I think that for all these malpractices we have sufficient number of laws to deal for preventing and delivering justice to the victims. But who cares for this? Having democracy with great number of such laws with least effective implementation of these laws on ground and very slow delivery of justice have already lost the trust of Indian people. Moreover, we have already overburdened Indian Judiciary System where thousands of legal cases are still waiting to get cleared for many years. Whether it is a court, police or government..the common man is afraid from the system in India. Therefore, I believe that passing these bills will only multiply the above worst mentioned situation at a greater scale. Bill and laws are always introduced with good interests, therefore I also believe that these bills must have been containing great provisions to deal strictly against "Education Mafias" for ensuring justice and preventing any unfair practices. While our Honorable HRD minister recently announced that there is still scope for 800 Universities and 35,000 colleges in India in near future. Does this bill contain any provision to establish any extra mechanism/system to handle the cases of any prospective malpractices by these large number of Universities/Colleges in near future? Or do we have to rely on already overburdened judiciary? These matters must be addressed with serious concern to prepare an effective bills for better implementation of laws.

  • I firmly believe legislation alone is not the only solution to curb educational malpractices. I condemn huge donation and capitation fee charged by educational instittions. Education is for all and it should not discriminate rich and poor. The need of the hour is to create awareness against these evils that are gradually eating away right talent. Both state and central government must take action action against those institutions indulging in unjust and deceptive practices. The government should not remain a silent specatator to such practices.
