Entrance test: IUCAA-NCRA Admission Test 2010
Research Centres:: The Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune, and the National Centre for Radio Astrophysics of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (NCRA – TIFR), Pune, are two leading centres of research in a wide range of areas in Astronomy and Astrophysics.
Eligibility: Candidates expected to complete their M.Sc. (in Physics/Electronics/Astronomy/Applied Mathematics) or B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. degree(any branch) by August 2011.
Note: In addition, talented final year B.Sc., 1st year M.Sc. (in Physics/ Electronics/Astronomy/Applied Mathematics) and 2nd/3rd year B.E./B.Tech.(any branch) students may also apply to be Pre-selected for research scholarship to do PhD at either of the institutes, IUCAA, Pune, for Astronomy and Astrophysics, and Physics, and NCRA – TIFR, Pune, for Astronomy and Astrophysics.
Selection Process: On the basis of a written test to be held on December 22, 2010 and two interviews on December 22, and/or 23, 2010, both to be held in Pune.
