ACROSS the world, MBA remains the most sought after course, with Engineering, medicine and the applied sciences following closely. However, with the opening up of the world economy, other less conventional course options also are moving up the ‘on-demand’ list.
Thus so far uncharted domains like hospitality (and related fields like catering), tourism, entertainment and even hairdressing, especially those offered by expert practitioners in the field in Australia, UK and the USA are finding favour with those heading abroad.
Hotel Management, engineering and MBA occupy the top three spots across almost all countries. There is also a clear preference to explore conventional options such as medicine and life sciences and IT in major countries such as the USA, UK and Australia. Interestingly when it comes to the USA engineering is the most preferred option while Hotel Management appears to be the top scorer from Australia. Varied subject options like aviation, psychology and logistics, among others, feature more prominently in the search terms employed on the country pages for Malaysia, New Zealand and Singapore.
