THE Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), makers of the GMAT Exam launched the ‘Official GMAT App’ on May 24, across the world. Now you can access questions and more on your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. You can also download the app if you have iTunes on your laptop.
The app is the portable mobile version of the 12th edition of the Official Guide for GMAT review, the only book by GMAT creators with over 800 GMAT questions from previous year’s test papers and detailed explanations and answers, grammar and maths review.
The app can be downloaded for $4.99, by entering ‘Official GMAT App’ in the search box in iTunes. John A Byrne, former Editor of Business Week and CEO of C-Change Media, which reviews innovations in the traditional media space writes, “After spending a couple of days trying out the new app, I can tell you that it is a clever way to bone up on your maths or grammar for the test. Unlike existing apps for this purpose, the GMAC version is much easier to use, boasts a cleaner interface and has far more options that make the app significantly more useful to B-School applicants.”

Additional Benefits
- When you communicate to the app that you want to take the test, it displays the number of days left for it.

You can get 250 additional questions of Verbal or quantitative or both verbal and quantitative for $9.99 but according to John A Byrne and other experts who have used the app, this seems a little expensive. The additional sets of 250 questions at $9.99 is nearly double the price of the app. With a fraction of that amount you can nearly download many times the number of questions from the net, but then, where would you get the real time results and comparisons, not to mention the geeky elation of using cutting edge mobile technology to prepare for your GMAT exams.
