NATIONAL development is critically dependent on investments in cutting edge areas of science and technology - this was clearly understood by India’s founding fathers. So they created over 200 of the finest institutions, teaching and researching on every conceivable aspect of science, technology, and society. And they collectively offer over 850+ programmes.

Subjects handled, too, are extremely diverse. We have institutions offering courses from radiological medicine to schools examining tropical meteorology. There are programmes training you on science communication to certificate courses on art appreciation.

What is interesting is the fact that most of these programmes are exceptionally cost-effective. The costliest programme we identified is still less than 2 lakh rupees per annum. Most of the institutions/programmes also have stipends and fellowships.
