ACCORDING to widely accepted parlance, NCR in India is a name for the metropolitan area which encompasses the entire National Capital Territory of Delhi as well as urban areas ringing it in neighbouring states of Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
The National Capital Region (NCR) has been maintained as a separate cluster from Delhi owing to a simple reason. Just the Ghaziabad belt has some 130 institutions at the last count. Not to forget Gurgaon, Greater Noida and Faridabad which account for another 30 business schools or so. The region also has the largest concentration of autonomous AICTE approved B-Schools.
IMT Ghaziabad and MDI Gurgaon form the rock solid edifice of the NCR B-School hub. They both rank among the top 15 B-schools of the country. MDI Gurgaon is a complete B-School, its MDPs and EDP line-up is one of the best in the country. IMT Ghaziabad has great core faculty, who are researchers of great repute. NCR also boasts of good Tier-1 schools like BIMTECH and Indian Institute of Finance in Greater Noida. The new entrant in the cluster is Jindal Management School, at Sonepat, Haryana. With rapid urban development in the area and the rising skyline of corporate houses, there is much scope for the management institutes.
