WHEN we compare last year's rankings with the current year, what is most visible is the rise in the number of good private B-Schools that have become part of the ranking sheets. The cut-off last year for a school to appear in the regional rankings  was just over 122, across regions. But this year it has jumped to 156 across sectors. so qualitatively the schools presented here are slightly of a higher order. So even if one missed out on the Top schools, there are still options available  for the students.

But keep in mind: As one moves beyond the Tier-3 schools (schools beyond the careers360 rank list),  the quality of placements and average pay packets reduce, substantially. The Tier 4 and Tier 5 schools do get companies on campus but these would account for not more than 25-30 %. And most of the positions would be for frontline sales and finance collections. So, one needs to be clear that as one goes down the pecking order, the risk of having to slug it out alongside a street-smart graduate is not far-fetched. So look at the parametric ranking more carefully before taking the final plunge. We present the Zone-wise B-School ranking of public and private ownership MBA colleges.
