B-School Ranking 2013 - Top B-Schools in South India

THE four south Indian states, collectively account for about 1200+ engineering colleges and as the demand for business education grew, departments of business studies grew out of these engineering colleges. So until recently south had basically B-Schools that are departments.

An exception is Bangalore, where schools like Mount Carmel, Christ College Institute of Management and St. Joseph’s and the like that are basically colleges of different persuasion (namely engineering and humanities), but also began management departments, when the demand for B-Schools grew in the country. Needless to say, IIM-Bangalore, bucks this trend and is counted among the top three management institutes in the country.

With around 14 business schools in it (including IIM in Kozhikode district), Kerala is probably one of the smallest clusters in our survey. Nevertheless, the presence of an IIM in this cluster makes it an important one. IIM-Kozhikode features among the top 15 B-schools in the country.

On the other hand, Andra Pradesh espcially Hyderabad had a range of schools offering managment education . These include Indian School of Business (ISB), ICFAI Business School (IBS) and Institute of Public Enterprises (IPE). The ICFAI group in fact set the benchmarks for correspondence Financial Analyst programme (CFA) in the country. In sum, this cluster offers a rich picking for an aspiring managment graduate.
