ESTABLISHED in 1977, the Indian Coast Guard is an independent armed force responsible for protecting our nation’s coast. Assisting mariner’s in distress, enforcing maritime laws with respect to seas, shipping, poaching, smuggling and narcotics, preserving the ecology – these are some of the tasks undertaken.
Selection is through a written test and a group task, and those who make the cut will undergo training, before being inducted into the force. Entry is both at the school and college level. For pilot entry one should have 12th class in 10+2 +3 scheme or equivalent and possess current Commercial Pilot License on the date of selection.
