Eligibility: Candidates who have completed their II PUC/ 12th Standard or equivalent in 2011 and those who are expecting to complete it in 2012 are eligible to apply. The candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects during their PUC/ 12th Standard. Candidates who have studied Biology, Statistics, Electronics, Computer Science, etc., should also have taken Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The candidates should have a first class or 60% or an equivalent grade (relaxed to pass class for SC/ST candidates).
Reservation for SC/ ST/ OBC/ Physically-Handicapped (PH) and Kashmiri-Migrant (KM) candidates: As per Government of India regulations.
Selection process: The selection will be based on the merit lists of the following national examinations: KVPY-SA-2010 (selected as fellows), KVPY-SB (appeared in 2011), KVPY-SX (appeared in 2011), IIT-JEE (appearing in 2012), AIEEE (appearing in 2012), and AIPMT (appearing in 2012).
Application fee: The application fee is Rs. 400/- for GN/OBC/KM candidates and Rs. 200/- for SC/ST/PH categories.
