      National Entrance Examination for Design (NEED)
      National Institute for Design, Ahmedabad conducts NEED across India at 11 centres for admission to the Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) which has 100 seats in the Ahmedabad campus. The cost of the application form for NEED is Rs. 1,500.

      Eligibility: Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalents like AISSCE/ IB/ ICSE etc. are eligible for NEED. Upper age limit for candidates is 20 years.

      Application deadline: November 21, 2011

      Exam date: January 7 & 8, 2012

      Test pattern and selection: The entrance exam tests the candidate’s aptitude and skills for design by testing mental ability, creativity, drawing and communication skills and world view.

      Those who qualify the written examination are called for studio tests followed by personal interview.

      National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Exam
      NIFT entrance exam is conducted in February across 30 test centres in India. NIFT has more than 2000 seats in various design & fashion-centric courses. Application form costs Rs. 1,000.

      Eligibility: Completed 10+2 from any Public School/ Board/ University Examination in India or foreign countries which are recognized by the Association of Indian Universities.

      Application deadline: January 10, 2012

      Exam date: February 12, 2012

      Test pattern and selection: For Bachelor's Degree Programmes in Design the admission test generally consists of GAT (General Ability Test) - 40 percent, CAT (Creative Ability Test) - 40 percent, Situation Test - 20 percent. Negative marking for objective questions is 0.25 marks per question. The admissions to the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of the institute take place on the basis of marks scored by the candidates in the written entrance test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

      Pearl Academy Fashion Entrance Exam
      The entrance test is conducted across 7 test centres in India. The application form costs Rs. 1000/-

      Eligibility: 10 + 2 with minimum 50% pass marks & Admission Test and Interview.

      Application deadline: NA

      Exam date: Generally happens in May.

      Test pattern and selection: The entrance is of one-hour duration and has multiple-choice questions which test a candidate's proficiency in language, Mathematics of 10th standard & logic.

      Those who qualify the written test are called for personal interview.

      Indira Kala Sangit Vishwavidyalay (IKSVV), Chhattisgarh

      Indira Kala Sangit Vishwavidyalay offers undergraduate, PG Diploma, Postgraduate and short-term and certificate courses in various forms of music and also Fine Arts. The institute also offers doctoral programmes. The admissions to the BA and BA (Honours) in Music are done on the basis of an Entrance test. Application forms cost Rs. 400 and are available at the university office.
       
      Eligibility: Candidates should have completed 10+2 in any discipline.

      Application deadline: 25 July

      Exam date: NA

      Test pattern and selection: The applicants need to perform well in the institute’s entrance test. Admissions will be based on the Departmental Admission Committee’s approval on the basis of the candidate’s performance. Physically challenged candidates whose abilities are not found suitable for the course applied for, will not be considered.
