Scholarship Amount: Cash grant of Rs. 5 lakhs each to be disbursed over a period of 4 years. In addition 80 students will be given Rs. 5,000 each as a special mention scholarship.

Details: Around 3,000 students will be selected for an online test on September 23 at any of 15 centres in state capitals and other metros. 500 of the best performers will be called to any of nine centres (Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Ahmedabad and Pune) for a day-long assessment through group discussions and interviews, from October 9 to 11. A hundred finally shortlisted candidates will be hosted in Delhi (each along with a guardian) on November 2 and 3 for the final selection of 20 Times Scholars by an eminent panel of India's leading educators. The selected Times Scholars will receive a scholarship of Rs 5 lakh each, paid in instalments over three/four years of undergraduation.

During the final round, the selected students will undergo a day of exposure to leading educators and luminaries in the fields of economics, history and the sciences, to help develop a broader perspective of life and opportunities. Over the next year they guided by experts recruited for this task by the Times Group, to help them choose and crack the higher education of their dreams.
