  • B.R.Harish | Jan 30, 2011

  • We have to look at the course fee also when we compare the colleges ..ISB course fee is more than IIMA n also ISB takes the students who have 4 - 5 years experience where as IIMA does not have that conditions..If we look at ROI, obviously IIMA is gud..n ofcourse it is not which college we r studying..It depends upon how much worth we r 2 the company...So, whether we r in Top 1 or 2 , wat I know is matters

  • "The proof of the pudding is in the eating". Rankings are fine. But if a survey could be taken from the employers who have hired the B-School grads that will speak more on the quality of the students who have passed out from these B-Schools. This will speak on the real quality of the B Schools.

  • In my opinion, this is a comprehensive and genuine survey of best B-Schools. Thanks team Career360
  • Crystal | Nov 01, 2010

  • Well this survey looks ridiculous. It doesn't seems to be proper ranking survey. Many top colleges like Christ, Alliance, Jain, ISBR, NIMMS, SPJAIN, SIBM etc. not in list at all. They need to be showing more genuine evaluated survey report & on what basis have they evaluated. Not by just with input, output & processing model.
  • Amit Gupta | Oct 17, 2010

  • Unitedworld School of Business is missing in the survey - it really is a great B School. This B School is formed by a group of India born economists, academicians and top executives, offers MBA in Mumbai, Kolkata and Delhi and Ahmedabad. Has a center in singapore also.Very good placements are expected this year as in the opening year itself, they had summer placements with 60 industry heavyweights coming in.An institute is termed good when the faculties are well networked in the industry. Check out the faculties - all of them have been corporate hot shots, and practically everybody is Ivy Leagued, with exceptional industry knowledge and teaching capability. I know a lot of students studying in Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi centers, they indeed have exceptional faculty. It's a very good upcoming institute.

  • Dear Victor Dykes, the ranking was conducted using a transparent process sans payout. Please review the methodology to understand the parameters considered in the survey. Also, check the following link for the list of institutes missing from the rankings and why: http://www.careers360.com/news/3825-These-B-Schools-should-have-been-there This list includes the ones mentioned by you.
  • Victor Dykes | Mar 10, 2010

  • This survey has missed some prominent institutes like IIM-L , NMIMS etc. And ISB, Hyderabad is better than IIM-A? Goodness gracious - hope the survey was done w/o payouts. As such our country, India is known to be among top ten in corruption..............

  • @ rc. Thank you for your comments. Careers360's earlier report on ICFAI (view http://www.careers360.com/news/3437-ICFAI-avoid-till-they-come-clean) clearly mentions the following: "Students should go for only regular admissions in the main campuses of ICFAI Universities or IBS, Hyderabad which has deemed university status. For the rest of the campuses and courses wait till the regulatory mess becomes clear."
  • siddharth | Feb 12, 2010

  • where is IIM Lucknow in your list is it some kind of joke....... don't tell me that b- school which u have mentioned are better than IIL- L. and why IBS hyderabad is there in your list which is not approved by GOI. and u have mentioned some colleges who are never able to place 100 per of its student. pls don't play with careers of aspirants
  • rc | Feb 11, 2010

  • I am question career 360's credibility. I have been following your website from some time now. I came across your reports on ICFAI's fraudulence and its non accredition by AICTE. Your website carried out reports against the institute and its fraudulent ways and now, you are yourself ranking the institute in the top 20. Is this some sort of joke you are playing with the readers? Then, you should even go ahead and rank other institutes as well against which you have carried out reports of not being accredited. I am deeply concerned by your website's credibility itself now. I am an alumni of a Top 5 Cusp Institute you have not ranked but listed.

  • ISB CO2009 | Feb 09, 2010

  • I guess the arguments will be never ending. Case-in-point: FT#12. That should be the end to any doubting thomases out there! FT can't be flawed for 3 years at a stretch starting ISB at 20, then 15, then 12. As for the placements, there are exceptions everywhere - whether at the top or at the bottom. Placements were a struggle, but at least 90% of CO 2009 is happily settled in a decent job. How about referring to the top 10% who got jobs with investments banks / consulting companies?
  • sourabh banerjee | Feb 08, 2010

  • replying to ISB Co2007. ISB didnt have 100% placements last year. Many students went back to old organisations since they didnt get better or good placements. There were/are quite a few ISB 08 and 09 students who are still struggling to get good placements. But, so do other BSchool students. But they are relatively freshers and had spent less moolah on their MBA compared to ISB students. My organisation had a unique distinction last year when we were able to get good students from ISB and IIML at real 'cheap' CTCs, hiterto unable to get them in good economic conditions.

  • Mahesh | Feb 08, 2010

  • A lot of thought has been put into the parameters for comparison. Kudos for Careers360 for providing such a detailed data and comparison. I would suggest a next step of comparison would be the actual programs that these school offer. A comparison of the flagship programs does not give the correct information. As many have pointed out, the choice of freshers is the IIMs. Whereas freshers have no place in ISB as per their admission criteria. More over, the PGPX programs of all the IIMS have an entry criteria of > 5 to 7 years of work ex. Such a program based comparison of b-schools would add a new and really needed dimension to the data that you have provided in your rankings - especially for those targeting the 1 year executive programs.
  • Sankha Ghosh | Feb 08, 2010

  • There is no NMIMS,GIM and from south zone there is Acharya,IFIM but no Christ......the survey is not fully authentic.
  • ISB CO2009 | Feb 08, 2010

  • ISB rocks, this is a reiteration of our FT ranking. Also, the final margin between 1st and 2nd places is something worth observing. All said and done, ISB ROCKS!!!
  • Rahul | Feb 08, 2010

  • What is interesting to note is the fact that Great Lakes has taken a big leap in just 5 yrs since its inception. I researched and found the bar for entry into this college is constantly rising. For people with 2+ yrs of exp, I think it is a perfect place for MBA given that GL charges a reasonable fee, has faculty from Kellogg, Yale, Stanford, etc. and a state-of-the-art campus...Next yr, most definitely, the college will make into the top 10...
  • Sidhartha | Feb 07, 2010

  • ISB asks 2-6 yrs exp and many of other colleges in the list dont. Thus these B-Schools places themselves in different positions in the market. similar situation for many of other b-schools above. So it would be inappropriate to compare schools across the categories.
  • vaibhav jain | Feb 07, 2010

  • I am in shock by looking at these rankings. These rankings don't include colleges like S.P JAIN,SIBM,NMIMS,GIM GOA,K.J SOMAIYA,ALLIANCE,IRMA,CHRIST,BIM TECH AND MANY MORE
  • Sanjeet | Feb 06, 2010

  • Great to hear that ISB, despite being hardly 9 yrs old, has come closer to what IIMs have achieved in almost 50 years. In Indian minds, institutes like IIM and IIT carry lot more perception in terms of quality of education and securing dream jobs. The success of ISB can mainly be attributed to the leaders associated with institutes like IIMs. Former associate dean of ISB, Mr. Pankaj Chandra, now director of IIMB, is a faculty (on leave) of IIM Ahmedabad. Former dean of ISB, Mr. Rao was ex-director of IIMB, while the current dean Mr. Ajit Rangnekar is an IIMA alumn.
  • Rajesh | Feb 06, 2010

  • Dear Raj, I agree that ISB is the best fit for applicants having 2 to 6 yrs of work experience. I Know a number of guys who had 8+ yrs of experience, either are doing MBA or got selected to ISB. They frankly expressed me that it is hard to place a person with 8+ yrs of experience in ISB and this issue is often discussed in admission interview of ISB. Most of my friends with 8+ yrs of work-exp have chosen PGPX, PGPEX or EPGP over ISB as they feel that intake of these courses are more matured (age and experience wise) and these courses attract more recruiters for middle/ senior positions.
  • Raj | Feb 06, 2010

  • I think the top 5 ranks(IIML included)in this survey are more or less perfect substitutes for people with less than 2 yrs exp. ISB is different to the extent that its a one year MBA and has a higher work-ex students. Institutes like IIMs which offer two year MBAs would continue to be the first choice for the freshers. For students with 3+ yrs of experience, ISB scores over others(inclding PGPX of IIMA).
  • Purav | Feb 05, 2010

  • For those colleges like IIML, GIM etc that did not appear on the list, careers360 had tried to approach them but could not get data. They have pointed this out and also mentioned their possibilities of coming in the top list. Being one of those 'students' who interacted with careers360, I had asked about the whole procedure and I did not find any reason to question the authenticity of the rankings.
  • Ano | Feb 05, 2010

  • Well MICA at this top and IBS in these rankings seem to suggest something fishy about the rankings.
  • hg | Feb 05, 2010

  • ***for all those who say 3.2 lakh apps for 320 seats.. do not know the fact that around 8 lakh people appear for GMAT out of those a few thousand get 700+ (and therefore self select/or do apply to ISB coz of obvious reasons as ISB GMAT avg is 720+)......further out of those few thousand only few hundred have good enough profiles to get shortlisted for ISB interviews ....out of those few hundred... handful get admissions (many of the ISB students have admissions in top US bschools but the choose ISB.....rest you all can imagine.. however on the other hand every fresher passing out from colleges fills out the CAT..and in effect apps for IIMA......and therefore the self proclaimed glory..how many of the 3.2 lakh candidates are serious contenders is any bodys guess :-) I rest the case your honor..
  • ISB Co2007 | Feb 05, 2010

  • Mr Mukesh, in answer to some of your comments - * IIMA is not better than ISB that attracts only 3500 applications for 580 seats - AGREE IT IS NOT BETTER THAN THE ISB! THANKS SO MUCH! * ISB depends on visiting faculty while IIMA has faculty with high reputation - We Dont DEPEND on visiting faculty, we have a lot of in house faculty as well. Get your facts correct. And more important point... ALL OUR FACULTY - IN HOUSE / VISITING ARE OF HIGH REPUTATION * ISB was also not able to place its full batch last year - Again...get your facts right. Placements happened in stages as late as June. As for other B Schools which so called 'placed' students... please retrospect whether job profiles were fit for an MBA or were they worthy of an engineering graduate. You will get your answer! So there u go... an ISB alum is speaking with full honesty. don't play a spoiltsport... accept it ISB ROCKS!!
  • Anugrah | Feb 05, 2010

  • I can't believe these rankings.........No SPJAIN, NMIMS & Other better one....like KJ somaiya
  • Mukesh | Feb 05, 2010

  • Biased survey with a motive of ranking some schools higher in ranking. IIML name is missing from the list. IIMA (2.5 Lacs applications for 320 seats)is not better than ISB that attracts only 3500 applications for 580 seats. ISB depends on visiting faculty while IIMA has faculty with high reputation. ISB was also not able to place its full batch last year. Ask any students of ISB of this batch, if he/she speaks with honesty, truth will come out. How much did the survey agency earned from vested interests. It's a mockery of fair journalism.
  • Ramya | Feb 05, 2010
