The Library follows the Dewey Decimal Classification system for stacking the books on the bookshelves and admirals. This is a popular system adopted in most of the libraries in India and elsewhere, where books are classified under various subject heads and stacked together. Each book is given a unique number consisting of the first three letters of the author’s last name, classification number, and accession numbers. These details are printed on a label which is pasted on the spine of each book. Now all the books are arranged sequentially based on these unique numbers. If for any reason you take out a book from the shelf, please remember it to place back in the exact place. Should you have any confusion about where it was, do not place it randomly; instead, leave the book on the sorting tables. This will help to maintain the sequence of the books which in turn helps in easily locating the book on the shelf. The open Access system allows the students to directly approach the bookshelves and choose the book they desire.
