AIT Chikmagalur Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The Institute recognizes that a major concern to all students and parents is the availability and quality of accommodation and food.  There are two fully furnished hostels that ensure security in Hostels, 24-hour security guards, and a CCTV monitoring system.

A new well-planned girls’ Hostel of International standards, constructed in a calm and picturesque location near the college campus provides accommodation for 300 girl students. The facilities include rooms with single, double, and triple occupancy, a spacious reading hall, dining hall, meditation hall, indoor and outdoor recreation.

The mess is run on a cost-sharing basis. The Hostels are provided with solar heaters and modern Cooking accessories.

Senior faculty members are made as Wardens to look after the day-to-day working of the Hostel and the discipline of boarders. They will work under the general guidelines of the Director/Principal, who has the discretion to refuse admission to any student if they are not satisfied with the conduct and progress of the particular student.

The college is provided with first aid and a vehicle to travel to nearby hospitals in case of medical emergencies.

The college has a gym facility for all the students.

The Institute has a well-equipped library housed in a spacious building that has a collection of about 46,000 volumes covering all branches of Science, Engineering, and Management subjects. There are about 120 subscribed Technical Journals and periodicals in the reference section.

The library has a separate reading room providing technical and non-technical, general, magazines and newspapers to improve the general awareness among the students. Institute is a member of DELNET sponsored by AICTE and has a Computerized Library Information System. Apart from the Central Library, each department has its own association library.

The college has a sports facility for all the students.

The college is provided with I.T infrastructure like C Programming: The lab is equipped with Acer and HCL systems with a count of 40 pcs Systems have the configuration of the Intel core processor. 1GB, 2GB and, 4GB RAM, 500 GB Harddisk with operating systems.Database Application lab: Lab is equipped with Acer, Lenovo, and Dell systems with a count of 50 Pcs systems tech lab: Lab is equipped with Acer, with a count of 18 Pcs systems. A system has the configuration of the Intel I3 processor,2GB ram, 500 GB hard disk.

The college has an area of 600 sq. mt is provided for Canteen comprises of hygiene kitchen, storeroom, and required furniture. A committee is constituted to look after the canteen management.

The college has one auditorium with a seating capacity of 700 (audio-video facility, whiteboard, Air-conditioned). One auditorium with a seating capacity of 200 (audio-video facility, whiteboard, Air-conditioned). One Amphitheatre with a seating capacity of 3000 ((audio-video facility, whiteboard).

A large fleet of buses provides transportation facilities to the student and staff. Regular bus services are provided from college to town and town to college.

The local transport runs throughout the working hours starting from 07.00 AM to 07.00 PM to-fro city.

All vehicles are secured and automated door locking systems are monitored closely. More than 15 buses operate in a timely manner and there is a separate bus arrangement for the girl's hostel.

The story began years ago when the thought of setting up a social club was first mooted by a group of alumni. Imagine a place where you can relax after a hard day. where you can meet up friends, batch-mates, and alumni. But from the past 2-3 years, a core group of Asians was first from different places of the world came together. And the first flyer inviting membership is sending to all Asians from this site.

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

The college has a departmental based laboratory facility for the students.
