Anna Adarsh College for Women, Chennai Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

A women’s hostel with 89 rooms with provisions for food, entertainment, etc, is another facility that the students from outside the city make use of. help parents and teachers to adapt themselves to the changing concepts of society.

The College has set up a common library that can cater to the needs of the staff and the students. The main library with an area of “69X33” and an equally spacious reading room which can accommodate 150 students at a time and to keep around 46,000 books in different subjects. The library subscribes to 50 journals and 38 magazines. Online journals, CDs, DVDs, and databases are also provided. Along with reference service, the library provides facilities for photocopying and browsing. There are a number of computers with internet connection. A separate library for MCA students and individual libraries of all departments provide students with the latest and important books in their subjects.

The spacious college ground is the area of our major activities like the weekly assembly, Independence Day function and sports events. Another major facility for the staff and students is the spacious parking lot adjacent to the ground.

The well equipped and furnished computer lab and the MCA lab with access to the latest technological are the places where the technological skills of our students are being shaped up keeping in mind the demands of the present times.

Realizing the need for having hygienic, nutritious food at reasonable rates on the campus, we have set up a well-furnished AC canteen and a coffee-day stall. These two act as the major hang-outs for the students on the campus. We have installed water coolers to make drinking water available.

A centrally air-conditioned auditorium with a capacity of around 1300 is the pinnacle of our infrastructure. Our conference hall, with a capacity of around 300 members, acts as the venue for holding important meetings.

Well equipped laboratories for all the science subjects.The various labs that we have set up on the campus like the chemistry lab,physics lab, microbiology lab and physiology lab encourage the spirit of enquiry and scientific endeavours in students. The food science management lab and the tailoring lab have been helping them in polishing their cookery and tailoring skills.

A branch and an ATM Karur Vysya Bank on our campus make fees remittance and other financial transactions easy for the students. The studio on the campus with a woman photographer in charge is another facility that the students make use of.
