About Assam Engineering College, Guwahati

Assam Engineering College was established in the year 1955 and was inaugurated by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The institute is also known as AEC and is considered as a premier institute in North East. Assam Engineering College is affiliated to Gauhati University and is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, New Delhi. AEC offers Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering and Industrial & Production Engineering. AEC also offers MCA and M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (ME), Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering.

AEC is located at Assam Engineering College Road, Jalukbari, Guwahati in Assam. Kamakhya Junction Railway Station is around 7 km away from the institute. Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport is around 13 km away and ISBT: Guwahati (Inter-State Bus Terminus) is around 8 km away from Assam Engineering College.

College Infrastructure

Assam engineering College has good infrastructures labs and libraries for the mtech program it has a dedicated hostel for the postgraduate students.The classes are equipped with whiteboards and projection facility they also have sports centres. living spaces are clean and the food hygienic the same is maintain throughout

1.Yes Assam engineering college has good facilities and equipments. The campus is spread across a vast area and has infrastructure for all the departments. It has seperate library, auditorium. 2. The classrooms are equipped with proper sitting arrangements, whiteboards and projector facilities. 3. The living spaces and food courts have proper hygiene and it is maintained regularly.

College Infrastructure

Since Assam Engineering College is one of the oldest colleges in Assam, the infrastructure is poor. The buildings are old,the laboratory materials are not good, bathrooms are not well maintained and same goes for the hostels too,wi-fi doesn't work properly , sports materials are not good. And regarding hygienty in hostels, it is really poor.
