Bapatla Engineering College was established in 1981. It is an autonomous institute functioning under the jurisdiction of Bapatla Education Society. BEC Bapatla has been conferred the status of autonomous by UGC. The college is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Government of India. Bapatla Engineering College is also accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and approved by the All India Council for Technical education (AICTE).
