CAT percentile is 83.93. Can i be shortlisted for GLIM, GIM, TAPMI, IRMA,BIM or KJSIMR?

    Hello student

CAT percentile 83 . 93 is not sufficient  to be short listed for the management institution like GLIM,GIM TAPMI,IRMA,BIM,KJSIMR.

For this institution of B school for management studies at least 85percentile is needed for general candidate to be short listed in  the above mentioned colleges for management studies.

what is bim for civil Engineering students.

    Dear Aspirant,

BIM stands for Building Information Modelling which is a process known to help improve the results of projects related to infrastructure. This happens because it enables the ability to help see the multidisciplinary and multidimensional point of views, is based on the data and takes care of the schedule and the budget. It is focused on the shared information which is communicated during the cycle of the project and have amazing and creative results. It resolves the complexity of infrastructure projects by encouraging teamwork, keeping your errors in check, helping with predicting the cost and budget and helping in the understanding of the project.

It is an integrated process which is based on the information which is derived from the construction of a project and the various operations involved in the same, though it is a common perception that it is just used by architects. It is changing the dynamic of civil engineering by changing the way the existing projects are now being constructed within this model. It requires a clear mindset and also a set of technical knowledge to achieve the targets it is known to achieve. This is the part of the innovative processes which are entering the field of civil engineering. This is a part of the skill-based learning for the students and encourages a bright spirit in them.

It is also known to increase team effort and collaboration and helps the project to come together. Though the catch when we talk about BIM in civil is that it does not refer to the physical infrastructure but rather to age outside of the building like roads, parking lots, walkaways and storm drains etc.

Hope this helps. All the best!

Cat 84.17 hons (completed in2018) 12th 91% 10th 9.2 cgpa Will I get a call from BIMTECH noida and BIM Trichy? Should i apply to these?

    Hi Ruhi Sharma,

    Thanks for A2A!

Your profile is really good. Everything above 90% is a really good score to have. You also completed graduation just now. So that is brilliant to crack CAT in first attempt.

Now, colleges like BIMTECH and BIM Trichy are among the top 50 B-Schools in India but fall under the tier 2 colleges. A percentile above 80 percentile is definitely a good score to get a call from these colleges. So, I beleive you will get the call.

However, these colleges accept applications from CMAT, XAT etc. also. So the competition will be tough in GDPI.

    All the best
