Carmel College of Arts Science and Commerce for Women Nuvem: A Women institution setup in Goa India in 1964 is a first-reputed women’s college in Goa, providing education to women’s for pursuing higher studies. This affiliated college recognized by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and it provides a broad spectrum of undergraduate and coursework consisting of postgraduate programs in arts, science, and commerce streams. Located on a fifty-five thousand square kilometer that has vast learning acreage, the college admits a total of 956 students and has 90 committed budding teachers. Carmel College offers 19 different courses and 9 degrees for different specialties such as Psychology, Food Technology, Management and others.

The college aims at offering quality infrastructure and resource in order to improve the learning environment of the student. The campus has satisfactory practical sessions, laboratories for group practicals, a well-furnished library with a vast number of books and journals and computerise for academic activities. For the extra-curricular activities the college provides a large sports hall, number of outdoor courts, as well as a good quality football ground. The institution also has an auditorium for occasions, seminars thus enhancing campus life. One can worth mentioning such feature as the girls’ hostel where students from other stations can live comfortably. The college canteen provides different type of snacks and foods and the on -campus cooperative store provides necessity items at cost price to the students.

Carmel college provides a wide spectrum of programs for education ranges from bachelor’s degree to post graduate degree provision, under graduate program being 14 and post graduate program being 5. The undergraduate programs include BA, B.Sc and B.Com, with options in English, Hindi, Psychology, History, Economics, Political Science, Konkani, Chemistry, Physics, Botany, Zoology. However at post graduate level, the college offers M.Com in Management and Accountancy and Finance, MA in Psychology and M.Sc in Food Technology. All programs are full-time, regular program, which aims at providing students with deeper understanding and a set of professional competencies in certain fields.

M.Com. Management: Enrolling a total of 40 students, this location admits students based on their merit in the bachelor's degree, preferably in Commerce or related disciplines. 

M.Com. Accountancy and Finance: Like mentioned above, this specialized M.Com program has 40 seats. Admission is merit-based and depends on the candidate's performance in the B.Com. or equivalent degree.

M.Sc. Food Technology: 40 seats available through merit-based admission eligibility in which any applicant has a bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food Science or similar fields.

College Infrastructure

The college infrastructure is no doubt the best in Goa. I've been to various colleges in Goa for competition purposes and I have closely observed other colleges infrastructure . Comparing it to Carmel college, I must say that Carmel college provides us with the best infrastructure when it comes to the college premises, washrooms, playground, basketball court, gym etc etc, the list is never ending!. The college has a very well air conditioned equipped Library and auditorium as well.

College infrastructure is very good. The campus is very clean. It has all the facilities like e-library, free WiFi, smart board, projector, well maintained classes, corporate store, and canteen. Canteen provides good food.

College is excellent and well equipped.

The college has a very big campus, with a lot of greenery. The classrooms are spacious with smartboards. Wi-Fi is available all around the campus. The college also has hostel facilities. The canteen provides good healthy meals.
