Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar is ‘Deemed to be University” and is administered under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and the Government of India.
Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar is presently offering courses in Diploma, B.Tech, B.Des., M.Des., M.Tech. and PhD programmes in many disciplines. The main departments include Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Food Engineering and Technology, Civil Engineering, Multimedia Communication and Design. Other departments include Basic Science (Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry), Allied Engineering Departments (Electrical and Mechanical Engineering), and Humanities and Social Sciences comprising of English, Economics and Sociology.
Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar offers admission for Diploma and B.Tech courses through Direct/Vertical or Lateral entry whereas, for B.Des., it offers admission only through Direct or Vertical entry.

● Appear for the entrance examination conducted by CITK or by State Council for Technical Education (SCTE), Guwahati, Assam.
● Meet the CIT Diploma cut-off requirement to qualify.
● Participate in the CITK counselling process.
● If allotted a seat, they should complete the CIT admission formalities and pay the fee.

Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar offers Diploma (3 years) in various courses such as Control and Instrumentation, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Food Processing Technology and Animation & Multimedia Technology.
A candidate should opt for a Diploma programme of Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar either by qualifying the CITEE conducted by CIT Kokrajhar or by qualifying the Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT).
The cut-off for the B.Des. course is released by the authorities of the college. A merit list is prepared based on the candidates’ performance in the entrance examination.

● CITK admissions are made based on rank in either of the two entrance exams mentioned above, students will be shortlisted for the admission process.
● Students are eligible for the CITK admission process which includes counselling process, verification of documents and fee payment.
● Admission into the Central Institute of Technology will be confirmed once the documents are verified, and the blocking fee is paid by the shortlisted candidate.

Candidates must not be over the age of 40 (45 years for SC/ST/PWD and 43 years for OBC and female candidates). |
The candidates would have to qualify either of these examinations to secure admission in BTech. The cut-off of the BTech course is released by the authorities of the college. A merit/ranking list would be prepared based on the performance of the candidates in the Entrance examination separately according to their region and category.

Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar offers MTech in various subjects such as Computer Science and Engineering, Food Engineering and Technology, Green Energy Technology and Water Resources & Hydraulics Engineering.
The intake capacity for each of the courses in which MTech is offered is 18.
B. Des. (Direct Entry-4 years) is offered by the Department of Multimedia Communication and Design. B. Des. (Vertical Entry-3 years) is also offered by the Department of Multimedia Communication and Design. The intake capacity for B.Des Direct as well as Vertical is 25 and 5 respectively. A candidate should qualify for either of the two examinations - CITBDAT (Central Institute of Technology Bachelor of Design Admission Test) conducted by Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar or the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination of Design (UCEED) conducted by IIT BOMBAY.

CITK offers Ph.D. in Core Engineering branches, Allied Engineering branches (Electrical Engineering), Basic Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics), Humanities & Social Sciences (English, Economics) and Multimedia Communication & Design.
The eligibility criteria for a Diploma programme at CITK is that candidates must have passed HSLC or equivalent with 40% of marks in aggregate and 40% of marks in Science, Mathematics (or Advanced Mathematics) and English took together (5% relaxation for ST/SC/PWD candidates) and the age of the candidates must not exceed the following age limit for different categories- (i) OPEN/OBC-19 years; (ii) SC/ST/PWD-24 years; (iii) Female Candidates-22 years.
