The institute aims to provide students with extra exposure through various clubs and committees. The students are provided with a platform in order to be engaged in environmental as well as humanitarian activities. There are a total of 20 clubs in music, nature, art, women empowerment cells, photography, film, karate, nature, rotaract, quiz, NSS, dramatics and so on. Some of the clubs are:
1. Datalytics Clubs - The club aims to drive the popularity of data science and analytics among the students. It arms them with significant knowledge about statistical techniques & tools to develop systems using ML and AI.
2. FOSS-CIT Clubs - This club at CIT works towards inculcating the culture of coding and open-source programming among students. It conducts regular workshops and events around the open-source community & also trains students on new-age technologies such as competitive programming, recreational programming and GNU/Linux tools & frameworks.

My worst college choice!!!
College Infrastructure
CIT seems to have some of the equipment needed for a computer science student but they are outdated. There is a decent library. The sports center is still on only because of the students there. The hostels are literally 50 years old, they don't have urinals. Al though the bathrooms are cleaned once a week they are not at all great for a hostel which has close to 350 students under one roof.

Hi I am from Coimbatore Institute of technology, Coimbatore and currently pursuing second year. I am lateral entry student and I just went to college for just two months. The college doesn't offer hostel facilities to lateral entry student. And the college is about 70 years old so the infrastructure is not that good it just look like government college. But it has high ended lab facilities and modern library which makes it one of the best engineering college in Coimbatore.
Overall, I had great time studying in the college.

College was built back in the 1950s, so the overall infrastructure is quite fair. But it has a library with very good amenities, well-equipped labs. One can also engage in numerous sports activities like cricket, football etc.
