CEG is one of the Oldest institutions in India and also in the World. It is always known for its ever standing infrastructure. It is highly equipped with all the necessary and advanced tech required to get max. exposure from the college by the time we graduate. No wonder why it's in the top tier NIRF ranking list.
I don't know about the quality of teaching in offline mode of learning. Online mode has many limitations, even teachers find it harder to explain the concept to students in online mode. Some subjects which requires black board teaching like Math are even harder. Overall it is average on the online mode. Once you get to college you must get familiarised with self study. I'll say it again I have no clue about offline classes.
Since our college is at the top in NIRF ranking, many top tier compnies like Amazon, Walmart..etc recruit several students through campus interview... majority of the students get placement through campus interview itself while a few doesn't but they manage to get recruited in companies as they have studied in a dignified institution.
It's a government college it's a definite 5 Stars. Almost all Government colleges ask for low fees amounts but not curtailing from the quality of education. In simple words Low money high exposure
College life is wonderful, that too in a vast campus like this...it would give us wide range of opportunities and freedom to choose what we want to pursue. But I'd say this online college life sucks!
It's almost been a year of college but I've been to college for like 25 to 30 days or less. That 30 days was bliss! I regret that we have wasted 1 fruitful year through online classes. I hope this pandemic goes off and we continue to enjoy our college life!
Being one of the best universities in India, the infrastructure is second to none. All the facilities are top-notch and up-to-date. It is one of the most iconic colleges in India. We have very sophisticated labs.
We had a few very skilled and knowledgeable and took great interest in the upliftment of students. The curriculum was very updated and we had regular assessments and projects to better understand the subject.
We had the best organizations globally come to our college for placements. I got placed in Accenture due to the well well-organized drive. The highest recruiter offered a contract of 50 per annum from myntra.
Being one of the oldest and most-recognized universities of Tamil Nadu, Anna University Guindy has state of the art infrastructure inside of the 100 year old majestic red buildings. Students have access to campus wide wi fi, electronic hubs and charging stations. The hostels are off-limits for masters students, which is a disadvantage for students from from cities having to stay in private hostels. The libraries and public reading rooms are exceptionally well maintained.
The control and instrumentation department comes under the Electrical Engineering wing with multiple streams from power systems to electronics. The specialized teaching and thesis guidance by department chairperson Uma Maheshwari, is at par with the IITs and NITs. They teachers motivate students to spread wings and help them get their research published in prestigious journals.
The placements of software companies at this level are pretty easy to crack and offer solace for fresh graduates. But, getting a core job, in the field of study is quite a difficult task. HoneyWell recruited from our specialization, only selecting the two top ranking candidates out of the many who applied. Expectations are quite high for master's graduates.
Due to goverment regulations, Fees are pretty nominal at 11,000 Rupees per year(2015). GATE scholars get monthly stipend of 8,000 in exchange for part-time lab assisting, and teaching.
Lush campus and academic setting encourages students to be more productive. The walk from department building to canteen and printing stations were extremely long and hard in the summer months. Canteen food is subsidized, but printing service costs are a bit exorbitant.
Humbled to have been part of the Anna Univeristy legacy of more than 100 years of Engineering.
College of Engineering, Guindy had completed its 226th birth anniversary this May, Which means CEG has a very in fracture, facilities and equipment. classrooms, laboratories, and libraries are provided with all modern facilities like WIFI smart boards, smart ID cards with chips and QR codes and so on. CEG's sports centres include numerous courts like football, hockey, tennis, basketball, swimming pool and so on. The main drawback in campus is network connectivity because of its forest cover.
I am studying BE mechanical Engineering in CEG. The quality of teaching depends on your interest and your approach towards. The staff of CEG are highly qualified and experienced. Most of the time they will be engaged with their projects and research. So we have to approach them individually for their guidance. CEG has its own syllabus and regulations apart from all other affiliated colleges. The curriculum is being updated from time to time. With proper work, your job is guaranteed.
CEG's placement cell CUIC (Centre for university and Industry Collaboration) is offering placements qualitatively and quantitatively. Approximately 70% of students get placed and the percentage varies for each course. The highest salary package of about 35LPA is being given in Computer science engineering. The average salary varies among departments. The placement process is smooth and no kind of hierarchy is there. The college supports students in various ways for getting placed
As CEG is a Government body, Its fees structure are too basic and offers a lot of scholarship for those who deserve it. Coming to hotels fees structure CEG hostels are giving a good outcome like spacious hostel rooms, Hygiene hostel messes and so on.CEG has separate hostels for each year students and so no kind of ragging could be exercised . Even CEG has separate mess five mess facilities ( Junior boys, Senior- veg boys, Senior-nonveg, girls mess and PG mess)
Life CEG will obviously your golden times, Apart from academics, CEG has numerous (25 clubs approx) students clubs including both technical and non-technical clubs. CEG host two national level fests one in technical domain called Kurukshetra and the other one in cultural called techofes both attract a huge crowd from various parts of the country. CEG being located at the heart of Chennai it's safe and has the potential to handle emergencies.
CEG is one among four university departments of ANNA UNIVERSITY, CHENNAI. Literally the college gives whatever you ask if you deserve it.CEG is one of the oldest institutes in India. One of the major issues of CEG is it shows you various paths for you but you to make your choice. Some have got confused and suffered. If you are strong in your passion. CEG is the best choice!
