If you consider colleges from Maharashtra only (excluding IIT and NIT), CoEP is the best in every aspect. However a college of CoEP's stature should aspire aggressively for National recognition. The pros: 1) Out of the world extracurricular: Often there are so many things to do, you will find your head spinning deciding what to do and what not. 2) Campus: Located in the heart of the city, CoEP boasts a boat club of its own. The campus is very well maintained, the hostels are better than average. 3) Placement: If you do fairly well, you have a very good chance of landing one of the best jobs available in your area of expertise/engineering. The Cons: 1) Faculty: Even though some of the departments of CoEP have very good faculty members, others lack considerably. This not only affects the general attitude towards Engineering, it hampers the Institute's potential for research and future technical growth! 2) Placement: Even though the placement is good, it could very easily be improved by taking a few managerial clever decisions. In my 4 years here, I have seen that the faculty in charge of the placements is often too careless which costs people their whole career paths! But they didn't seem to care. 3) Focus on Research: I think CoEP in general lacks in it's focus on research. Most students just want a placement and most faculty member just want their salaries! All in all, CoEP is a good place to be. It has a good network of Alumnis and a lot of potential for improvement. I would love to see/contribute to CoEP growing in all possible ways! :) Cheers.

College life is awesome.Placement too is good and at par with many NITs.Infrastructure is surprisingly satisfactory taking into consideration how old the institute is.Faculty is satisfactory and is like you would expect from any college.Hostels are not that good but you dont have to spend your life there.M any fests are also conducted in the college thats refreshing and teches you time management and responsiblity handling.

A perfect platform your extracurriculars but not your engine

A perfect blend of all extracurriculars for your holistic development but has a huge deficiency of good faculty to teach. Most of the faculty don't do research, let alone quality research. The infrastructure is good for an engineering college. The hostels for girls are good but are pathetic for boys. An excellent campus crowd with people from different backgrounds leaves you even more social and cognizant of their regions. COEP is recognized internationally and there are admits to great universities for higher education. Overall, it's the students who can be attributed the current fame of COEP.

The college gives its students exposure to various industries and the outside practical world. It does so by making the students take part as well as organise one of biggest technical fests, sports event, gathering, etc. Seniors are exceptionally helping and everyone is packed with loads of talents to explore.

Lots of clubs, events that provide many opportunities for personal development. Awesome peer group & great alumni are the best part. Hostel & college fees are cheap. You will find many people who have not so good financial backgrounds and hence your interaction with these people can help you understand the various struggles in life & the fact that they are still here to study in one of the top ranking colleges of India is truly inspiring.
