DIST Angamaly Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college has a boys hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students. Each hostel accommodates nearly 150 students. The presence of students from states other than Kerala has lifted the phase of our education to a national realm. The rooms which are very spacious and the interior amenities disposed of in tune with the needs of the students maintain the Dist hostels in demand and add to their exclusive nature. The management is very keen and particular with regard to the discipline of the hostels. There is a well-stipulated timetable for the students which provides them with ample opportunities for study, recreation, prayer, etc. The study time is strictly observed with the help of a specially appointed staff. The management has made it a point to retain a group of personnel to keep the hostel and its premises always clean and sterile. The hostel campus extends noteworthy openings for the students to augment their talents in any kind of plays like volleyball, basketball, football, cricket, etc. The food served in the hostels is always colored with a homely taste.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

The college has a Gym facility for the students. Health is the quality of life that enables the individual to live most and serve best” (J.F.Williams). A healthy student develops into a healthy adult. Health Club enables students to achieve health by making them aware of what health is, what it depends on, and how to apply this knowledge in everyday life. It is proved scientifically that a healthy mind and body helps a person to perform optimum in whatever field they are in. We have a gymnasium inside the campus to ensure the physical fitness of students as it is a key to a healthy body and the basis of dynamism and creativity.

The college library has a collection of around 18,400 books under different titles. A good majority of the books in the library are in English. There are also books in Malayalam, and Hindi. The main areas of interest of this library are management, computer science, sociology, social work, psychology, and tourism, mathematics, economics, law, literature, media, and statistics. 

The college has sports facilities for all students. Has all the teams for football, basketball, volleyball, cricket, and badminton. They participate in various competitions on and off-campus and continue to be winners.

The college well-designed computer labs are operational for students of different departments, run by a well-educated and qualified faculty, with one-on-one access, which means there is one computer for each student. All the labs are fully functional and air conditioned. The labs include projection capabilities with the faculty system. All Labs are well maintained and well equipped with latest model system. All the labs are inter connected. Student’s and Staffs data are stored in the 24 * 7 live Storage Servers. So the users can access the anywhere in the Campus. Labs are supported with UPS Power backup. Two system administrators and four lab instructors are available for the smooth and well-functioning of the systems and day today activities of the lab. The systems are mainly using Linux Operating System and also use Windows. The multimedia lab consists of graphical supportive systems as they are used by the multimedia and animation students. 

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The college has a transport facility for students and staff. College buses are provided for students and staff which start from Cochin and Amballoor which cover all the pick-up points of the city. Buses are scheduled as per the convenience of class timings for staff and students.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

The college has a departmental based laboratory facility for the students.
