Don Bosco Arts and Science College, Kannur Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College has well-furnished rooms with a conducive environment for rigorous academic pursuit. A home away from home, the hostel has a regular timetable tailored to the requirements of the growing generation. Currently, the hostel accommodates 140 students.

The College Girls Hostel is located very close to the campus and is run by SABS Sisters. Being personally supervised and monitored by the Sisters, the hostel is a safe and happy home away from home.

The college has a library facility for all students. The college has a Library Council comprising Principal, Heads of the various Departments, Faculty members, Librarian and Student Representatives to assist in procuring books, journals, and magazines. Library Council is responsible for the upkeep of the library facilities. Library uses Book Magic, an Integrated Library Management System, for its in-house operations. This allows users to search a book author-wise, title-wise, subject-wise. Library also has OPAC terminals at various locations. Information pertaining to Library is also made available through OPAC College has a digital library that contains e-books, e-journals, and question papers of all previously conducted university examinations of the courses/programs available in the college. The digital library also provides an e-gateway to open access journals and shodhganga. Digital libraries can be accessed on the Local Area Network only.

The college has a playground for football, basketball, volleyball, cricket, and shuttle badminton. Interdepartmental and intercollegiate matches are organized and college teams are sent for university-level tournaments.

The College has a state-of-the-art computer lab with 80 computers at students’ disposal, offering practical sessions for students especially those doing B.Com Computer Applications, B.Sc Mathematics with Computer Applications, and BCA.

The College has a well-established cafeteria. The canteen is spick and span and offers items of quality at an affordable rate. Canteen functions on all working days.

The College has a very spacious auditorium regularly used for morning assembly, intercollegiate fests, interdepartmental competitions, Onam, Arts and College Day celebrations, and College Union Programmes. Over 1,500 students can have comfortably seated in the auditorium.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The College has a 24-hour Wi-Fi-enabled campus. Students can surf the Internet for academic and professional requirements.

The College has a designated parking area for vehicles to park on the campus. The entry of a vehicle beyond that point is strictly prohibited.
