Dr Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology (MCET) offers undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. courses in engineering. The college also offers MCA programme. To get admission to B.E and B.Tech courses offered by MCET, students need to appear for the state level counselling - Tamilnadu Engineering Admission (TNEA), conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu. There is no entrance test for TNEA counselling and the merit list will be prepared based on the candidates score at 12 class, choice filling, choice locking and document verification. Admission to M.E and MCA is based on the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET). To get an admission to Ph.D, candidates have to follow the guidelines of the Anna University.
Admission process for B.E.:
Students need to appear for Tamilnadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) based on their qualifying examination marks.
For appearing in counselling round students need to register in TNEA portal and select Dr Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology as their top preference and the branch they seek admission in.
The merit list will be prepared accordingly the weightage to percentile obtained by the candidate in TNEA, board exam, choice filling and counselling.
Admission process for M.E:
Students need to appear for the entrance examination - (TANCET), conducted by Anna University.
Students can visit the official website of Anna University to register themselves for TANCET.
Counselling is conducted based on the ranking in the entrance examination.
Candidates with a valid GATE score are eligible for direct admission.
Final selection is based on the merit list prepared by the authority.
Admission process for MCA:
Candidates need to appear for the TANCET MCA Entrance Exam.
Candidates will be shortlisted based on TANCET Counselling process.
Final selection is based on the merit list prepared by the authoritative body.
Admission Process for PhD:
Candidates need to apply online at the official website of the college.
Admission to PhD is based on the rank secured in the entrance examination conducted by the respective research department of the college.
Candidates with UGC-CSIR-NET/JRF, UGC-NET/JRF, SLET, GATE are exempted from the Entrance Test.
The final selection is based on the candidate's score in the entrance test and the interview.

At this stage it is quite difficult to predict the rank with the given some as the rank depends on various factors such as normalisation of marks, highest score in the exam, total number of candidates appeared etc. If it is TS EAMCET then marks scored in qualifying examination that is Intermediate second year will given 25% weightage and 75% weightage is given for marks scored in TS EAMCET. In case of AP EAPCET there is no weightage given for marks scored in qualifying examination.
With the given score your rank is expected to vary in between 40,000-50,000. Do note that this is only the estimated rank. The actual rank is going to vary based on the factors mentioned above.
