Government College of Engineering Salem offers admission to 6 B.E courses. Admission to these courses is done on the basis of the merit of the qualifying exam through TNEA counselling. GCE Salem cutoff is released each year. Candidates who clear the cutoff are eligible for applying for admission to the college. Government College of Engineering Salem cutoff varies each year. Therefore the candidates need to be aware of the cutoff trend. This will help them in predicting the cutoff for next year and they will prepare for the entrance examination accordingly.
Many factors affect the cutoffs. Let us look at some of the factors that determine the cutoff.
Number of Seats - Government College of Engineering Salem cutoff depends on the total number of seats offered by the college. If the number of seats is more the cutoff will be low whereas when the seats are less then the cutoff will be high.
Number of Applicants - The number of candidates each year varies. So this affects the cutoff declared by the GCE Salem. It is likely that the cutoff will be high if the number of applicants is more and if the number of applicants is low then the cutoff is likely to be less
Difficulty Level of Exam - Depending on whether the class 12th exams were easy or hard the cutoff also varies. If the exam was hard then the cutoff will be less and if the exam was easy then the cutoffs will be high.

Hii
The condition of civil branch is becoming worse daya by day. Even the same thing is going on top colleges for civil too. The students of civil are moving towards service based IT companies.
So don't go for choice of college, go for CSE and give your efforts to land in product based IT companies from off campus recruitment.
Hope it helps

It's not about the place but the stream that you need to consider as the two branches are very distinct from one another and provide diverse career opportunities. There are just a small number of government-related positions available in the market for civil engineers. So you should choose civil engineering if you want to pursue government sector jobs, which are limited.
However, compared to Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) has a greater number of work opportunities, therefore if you wish, you should pursue this field.
