The Government College of Technology (GCT), Coimbatore offers admission to undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D programmes. GCT Coimbatore admission to the B.E programme is offered on the basis of merit of the qualifying exam and the aspirants have to participate in the TNEA counselling. The Government College of Technology, Coimbatore offers B.E programmes at the UG level. The B.E programmes are offered in  Civil Engineering, Industrial Biotechnology, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Information Technology and Production Engineering specialisations.  The course duration of the B.E programme is 4 years. The minimum eligibility criteria for B.E admission is that the candidates should have passed the 10+2 exam with an aggregate of 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry from a recognised board.

• First, candidates need to register and participate in Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA).

The college offers M.E programmes at the postgraduate level. It offers M.E programmes under the following specialisations such as Applied Electronics, Computer Science and Engineering, Engineering Design, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Power Electronics and Drives, Power Engineering, Structural Engineering, Thermal Engineering and VLSI Design. The course duration of M.E programmes is 2 years. The required eligibility criteria for M.E admission is that the candidates must hold a bachelor’s or equivalent in the relevant field of Engineering/Technology from any recognised university.

• First, candidates have to register for the entrance exam- TANCET and fill up the application form along with all required documents. 

• Then candidates have to upload the photograph and pay the application fee. 

• Further, candidates need to appear for the entrance exam- TANCET or valid GATE score is considered.

• GCT Coimbatore M.E admission is based on the ranks secured in TANCET or GATE.

• Candidates have to register themselves and fill the application form online. 

• Eligible candidates have to collect the hall ticket for a written test conducted by the university.

• Candidates need to appear for the written test.

• For Ph.D admission, candidates are shortlisted based on the written test conducted by Anna University, Chennai.

• Further, shortlisted candidates have to appear for an interview.
