Government Engineering College, Idukki offers various facilities to the students and staff members. GEC Idukki facilities include separate hostel facilities for both boys and girls. It has around 12000 books in over 3100 titles. The library subscribes to 36 National journals, 36 International journals, 5 Newspapers and 9 periodicals. It also subscribes to all the IEEE e-journals under Indest Consortium. Library operations are computerised using SOUL software. GEC Idukki facilities include a canteen that serves delicious and hygienic food at reasonable prices. The central computing lab meets the computational needs of all faculty and staff. Internet access is also available on the Government Engineering College, Idukki campus. The Co-operative Society, which is located on the college campus, provides for students' daily needs such as stationery and textbooks. - Boys Hostel
GEC Idukki facilities and infrastructure includes hostel facilities for boys. The boys’ hostels have well-furnished and spacious rooms. The boys’ hostel rooms are equipped with facilities like a study table, chairs, cupboard, beds etc. The Men’s hostel- I, The Men’s hostel- II (near SBT) are the boys’ hostels there in the college. Hostels’ are headed by wardens.
- Girls Hostel
GEC Idukki facilities include a girls' hostel. The rooms at the girls' hostels are well-furnished and large. The girls' hostel rooms have amenities such as a study table, chairs, a closet, and beds. The girls' hostels at GEC Idukki accommodate 300 students. Wardens are in charge of the hostels.

Government Engineering College, Idukki has a well-equipped library on the campus for students and staff. The library has a collection of over 3100 titles and around 12000 books. GEC Idukki library also has 36 national journals, 36 international journals, 5 newspapers, and 9 magazines on its subscription list. It also belongs to the Indest Consortium, which subscribes to all IEEE e-journals. SOUL software is used to automate library procedures. On all working days, the library is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The sections of the college library are as follows: book lending section, a reference section, current periodicals section, book bank for SC/ST and financially backward students, reading room, reprographic section and digital library section.

GECI has a 2 Mbps Internet connection and ten additional 512 Mbps connections. Campus Area Network (CAN) and Wireless Area Network (WAN) provide internet access to students.
- Cafeteria
GEC Idukki facilities and infrastructure includes a well-maintained canteen on the college campus. In the college, there is a large canteen that was built with the help of the College Development Fund. The canteen provides tasty and healthy meals to students and faculty members at a reasonable price.

The auditorium is built keeping in view the modern requirements. It also provides the ideal setting for presentations and meetings, as well as conducting numerous workshops, conferences and other academic programmes such as seminars, workshops, symposiums and guest lectures. The auditorium is spacious enough to handle large gatherings for important occasions. The purpose of the auditoriums is to enhance the quality of education. The auditorium includes LCD projectors, screens, and whiteboards for delivering lectures to make this possible. Both auditoriums are well-appointed, air-conditioned, and equipped with modern projection and audio systems as well as internet connectivity.

Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical entrance examination (KEAM) is accepted for B.Tech admission at GEC Idukki. KEAM is conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE). For getting admitted to the B.Tech course at GEC, students must have to qualify for the minimum cut-off in the KEAM entrance exam followed by a counselling session.
