    Government Engineering College Thrissur was established in 1957. The foundation of the building was laid down by Honorable Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The campus of GEC Thrissur is spread over an area of more than 75 acres of land. The college is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The college is affiliated to the University of Calicut and APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. Government Engineering College Thrissur is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Council of Architecture (COA).     Ample facilities are provided by the college.     GEC Thrissur Admissions

    Admissions at the college are based on the entrance test (B.Tech, B.Arch, M.Tech). After the declaration of the result of the entrance test, cutoffs are released. In the case of B.Tech, candidates meeting the cutoff have to appear for counselling, whereas, in B.Arch, candidates have to fill the application form and participate in counselling.
