HIT Kolkata Facilities
Heritage Institute of Technology Kolkata facilities and infrastructure are provided to students to ease their life and education at college. The college has a central library where students can read journals, magazines, reference books, reprographics, etc. The library has centralized air conditioning and has fast internet. Students can find common rooms where they can play indoor games like table tennis, chess, carrom etc. The common rooms are made separately for girls and boys. Students and faculties can avail the postal services by DTDC on-campus arranged by the college. The college has a cafeteria where students can have multi cuisine and hygienic food.

- Library
The fully air-conditioned Central Library is housed in Central Block with a covered area of about 20000 sq.ft. It has a generous collection of about 55,000 (approx) text and reference books on all relevant subjects. The Institute subscribes to a large number of journals, periodicals, proceedings, magazines & local and national dailies, which are available for the benefit of the readers. Facilities at the library are constantly upgraded and expanded. Some of the current facilities include - Reprographics, Internet, and educational CDs. The Library is fully automated with LIBSYS and Online Public Access (OPAC) facility along with D-Space and KOHA – open source software.
- Sports
A common room, equipped with major indoor games facilities like Table Tennis, Carom and Chess are available. There are excellent facilities for outdoor games and sports like cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, golf and swimming managed by a Sports Officer and a Swimming Instructor.
- I.T Infrastructure
The Computer Centre has been set up as a centralized service centre so that students can use this for various purposes, such as, a) Programming b) Project work c) Preparation of seminar materials etc. The facility more than 600 Terminals along with printers and Internet Facility with 200Mbps Leased line.
- Cafeteria
The Institute has an excellent cafeteria. Multi-cuisine lunch and snacks are served in the cafeteria. Besides, a fast food restaurant-cum-convenience store is also there.
- Auditorium
There is an Auditorium (Swami Vivekananda Auditorium) with 500 seater capacity which is centrally air-conditioned.
- Transport Facility
Transportation is available from prominent locations in Kolkata at scheduled hours based on students’ demand. Transport facilities for members of faculty and staff, as also for visitors, are available from Ruby Island.
- Alumni Associations

- Wifi
The entire campus is Wi-Fi connected with 64 Mbps leased line for 24 hours for net surfing and online study. All students are provided with unique email id for having any time access to institute related information.
- Laboratories
The college has a departmental based laboratories facility for the students.
- Convenience Store
Essential books, stationery etc., as well as reprographic facilities are available in the corner.All postal facilities are available at East Kolkata Township P.O. located nearby. Besides, there is the arrangement with DTDC so that members of the faculty, staff and students can also avail themselves of courier services.
- Banks/ATMs
A branch of Punjab National Bank is located on the campus with ATM facility for the benefit of students and members of faculty and staff. It also extends various soft loans.
