    JGEC Admissions

    JGEC admissions are offered at the undergraduate and postgraduate level programmes. For the B.Tech programme admission, candidates have to appear for WBJEE and have to meet the cutoff, whereas, for the M.Tech programme admission, the college accepts scores of WB PGET or GATE. However, preference is given to candidates with a valid GATE score. Further, qualified candidates have to appear for WBJEE counselling for B.Tech and WB PGET counselling for the M.Tech programme admission. Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship- Minimum 60% aggregate marks in the last qualifying examination for UG level candidates and a minimum 53% aggregate marks in graduation honours subject for the PG level candidates is required to avail the scholarship. Candidates’ annual family income should also be less than Rs. 2.5 LPA. Under this scheme, Rs. 1,500 per month for UG programme, and Rs. 2,500 per month for PG programme is awarded.

    2. Backward Classes Welfare Department and Tribal Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal: Online Application for Scholarship in Studies (OASIS)- For SC/ST Students- Under this scheme, Rs. 550 per month for day scholars and Rs. 1,200 per month for hostellers are awarded to the SC/ST category students, whose annual family income is up to Rs. 2.5 LPA.

    Our college has a good infrastructure there is an administrative building and there is a central library. There are 5 hostels, and the hostel's food quality is horrible but the hostels have good connectivity water, electricity, and the Internet.

    There is a good infrastructure in our college, and full internet is available on the campus. There are lots of Laboratories in the college. Some of the classes are digital classrooms with projectors installed. There is a central library where students get mostly academic books but students are not allowed to study in the library. Hostel conditions are good in terms of electricity, water, and internet connectivity. But the space living space is not clean and mess food is not good and unhygienic.

    Details of JGEC College -

    Placement : Nearly 70%–80% of students, namely from the CS and IT departments, are placed. The largest wage package, which was provided in off-campus placements, was more than 35 LPA. The largest wage package available for on-campus placements is not more than 10 LPA, and the average salary package is perhaps between 2.5 LPA and 3 LPA. Students are hired in JP Morgan Chase and Amazon for off-campus placements. Students that are posted on campus work for companies like TCS, Cognizant, CTS, etc. There is no information available on internships at our college, and there may even be none. Internships are exclusively available off-campus. Here, positions like SDE and data analyst are available.

    Infrastructure : This university offers a sizable library with more than 100 hosts' worth of Wi-Fi access. Despite their size, classrooms are equipped with CCTVs and smart screens. To conduct experiments, labs have high-end, pricey instruments. The hostel offers Wi-Fi. A multispecialty hospital is located next to the college. As a result, it is prepared for any emergency. There is a sizable field for games and sports as well.

    Faculty : This college has professional professors. The majority of them have doctoral degrees or PhDs. They have more than 20 years of practical teaching expertise. If there are any questions about any issue, they interact with pupils on an individual basis.

    see mechanical engineering and electrical engineering two are totally different stream. however if you compare the two Institute based on placement , curriculum, college campus life and every thing jadavpur university is best institute of west bengal. if you review the placement scenario of the jalpaiguri engineering college and jadavpur university , jadavpur is far better then jalpaiguri. one of the main thing is in JU core companies comes for core sectors departments placement like mechanical, electrical. however most of the government engineering college of west bengal  has top  recruiter is IT company like tcs, cts etc. so JU would be best to chose for your career.
