JNNCE Shimoga

Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering, Shimoga which is also known as JNNCE Shimoga was established in the year 1980 by the National Education Society (NES). JNNCE courses are provided at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels in a total of 24 specialisation programmes in BE, M.Tech, MBA, MCA, M.Sc, and Ph.D degree courses. JNNCE fee structure for the UG and PG courses ranges from Rs 2,50,000 to Rs 6,32,000. JNNCE admissions are done on the basis of entrance exams followed by a round of counselling. The entrance exams accepted by the institute are COMEDK UGET, KCET, PGCET, URLA, and GATE of the candidates who meet the JNNCE eligibility criteria. According to the data provided by the institute, over 600 students have been placed in the ongoing JNNCE placements drive 2023 with Rs 24,00,000 per annum being the JNNCE highest salary package offered. 

Some of the top recruiters that partake in the JNNCE Shimoga placements drives are Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Godrej, Tech Mahindra, IBM, Nokia, Dell and many more. JNNCE has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a ‘B’ grade, and by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) as well. The JNNCE Shimoga college has been recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as well as by the Government of Karnataka. Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering is also affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi (VTU Belagavi). JNNCE infrastructure is spread over an area of approximately 39.40 acres consisting of its academic & administrative blocks, auditoriums, library, laboratories, and more available on the JNNCE campus. There are other facilities like separate hostels for male and female students, canteen, medical facilities, IT infrastructure, wi-fi & internet connectivity, sports facilities and more JNNCE facilities provided to the students, faculty members and staff as well.

College looks very beautiful from outside with lots of greenary. The library is huge with not enough quality study materials. Old buildings for mechanical, civil and electrical branch. Library equipments are outdated. Hostel food is not really good.
