Best Engineering College in Delhi-NCR

Posted on 11 Mar' 18 by Pranav Ahuja
Batch of 2019 | B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering
Placements : The placements of our college are good. Our college has a good coding culture. The highest salary offered for our branch was 10 Lacs. The minimum salary offered was 3.4 LPA. Nearly 88% of the students get placed in our college. Many big companies like Amazon , Deloitte visit the campus every year. Curriculum: Our college has a very good curriculum. Courses which are up to date are taught to us. A student has to choose electives based on his interest. Infrastructure : The facilities of our college are quite good. The labs are quite efficient with the modern equipment. Our library is known as a Learning Resource Centre. It has numerous books and capacity of almost 1500 students. Our college has good sports and games place. The best part of our college is food mess that is Annapurna. The quality is very good. Faculty : The teachers are quite qualified who teaches are well qualified and are all PhD holders and have experience in the study. The student to teacher ratio is 25:1. Our teachers are helpful and quite knowledgeable. Other : Our technical fest is 'Converge' which is held anually. Jaypee Youth Club(JYC) is the student body of the JIIT Noida. JYC has different societies like drama, dance, music, technical, robotics, literary and some more. These societies helps the students to enjoy their college life to the fullest because scoring high in only academics is not the only thing.

Good college to study engineering!

JIIT Noida is a good college to study engineering from. The college has good infrastructure with a continuous long building at the front and a big ground at the back, along with a separate football field attached to the main campus. The institute offers multiple labs with up-to-date equipment and dedicated, professionally qualified lab assistants for each lab, in the fields of computer science, electronics and physics. Since JIIT is a deemed university, they design their own syllabus and that is a thing I feel which can be improved upon. While the institute does lay emphasis on varied education with good exposure to multiple fields of technology, irrespective of whichever field of engineering you choose, I feel that the syllabus for Computer Science should be updated to include modern technologies and more exposure should be given to industrial technologies as compared to legacy systems. The faculty at JIIT is kind of a hit and miss. There are some teachers who teach really well inspite of being less qualified whereas there are other teachers who have decades of experience but are still not good "teachers" per se. There are some other minor peculiar rules in the college which never made sense to me, but nothing that will be a big issue. Overall, it's a good college where you will make and cherish great memories for a lifetime, alongwith a solid background in engineering and sound technical knowledge.

Starting with the environment, the environment of the campus is very friendly, almost gives like a school like feeling, ragging is strictly prohibited in the campus and in hostel. The hostels unlike sector 62 campus are not very well developed, and also it is situated outside the campus with Jaypee Office(10 minute walk). Hostels in sector 128 campus are currently unavailable for girls and 1st year students for security reasons. You can take a hostel at sector 62 campus and travel by college bus (approx 30 minutes). Coming to the infrastructure of the campus, AC is present in all classes, tutorial rooms and labs. The college is not that big as compared to that of 62 branch but this is not the biggest problem with the campus. The biggest problem is that the college is present inside the Jaypee wish town, due to which autos, food corners are not available near the college campus. The faculty is good, considerate and even though college students are not that interested in studying they are always ready to extend help outside the class too if you have doubts. But yeah they make examination paper tough and almost no theory can be seen in the paper if you compare it with UPTU papers. Converge is the annual fest organized by the student bodies within the college for 2-3 days which has dance, coding, music, quizzes, sports, DJ night, performance by celebrities and food stalls etc. Also there is a great atmosphere for competitive coding in the college with students participating actively in coding websites like Codechef, Hackerrank etc. There are 2-3 coding contests also held by the programming hub each semester to test your mettle. Talking about the main plus point of the college specially in the north region is it’s placement. Though the IT sector is facing shortage of jobs and major cuts, the college has a better placement records than the private colleges in the north (yeah of course it’s better than UPTU). Many students face a dilemma whether they must choose JIIT ,sector 128 or not if they are unable to get into sector 62. So the main difference is infrastructure, hostel and faculty. The rest is same as even the same exam paper comes in both sector 62 and 128 and the placement session is conducted for all students at the same time together in sector 62 campus only.

Awesome Faculty

Posted on 02 Mar' 17 by Sukhdeep Singh

The faculty of the college has changed in recent years. However, the new faculty members are knowledgeable and qualified. The faculty doesn't help you a lot and wants to sail and find the way independently. Different faculty members have different teaching methods and it also depends on the subject. The theoretical subjects are taught with the help of powerpoint presentations and the questions are discussed later on in tutorial classes. The practical subjects like physics and algorithms are taught with the help of powerpoint presentations, along with traditional whiteboard teaching and videos are also shown. Mathematics is taught in the most traditional way. Students are required to implement their learning in lab sessions so that conceptual clarity is achieved.

Nice Placement

The placement scenario for this batch was very nice and up to the mark as compared to the current market and placement scenarios of other colleges. Amazon offered the highest package of approximately 18 lakhs and mass-recruiters paid the least of some 3 lakhs. Many companies visited the campus, with big techno shots like Amazon, Kuliza to management companies like EY and Deloitte.

Good college to begin with.

If u are planning to study cse then u don't have much to worry about.Almost everybody in cse gets placed but not the same for ece, biotechnology or it.The course they teach is pretty standard. But it's better for you to learn on your own and apply your learnings to courses. I was in the Computer Science department and the faulty are pretty supportive. Some are great, most are good and some don’t deserve it to be there. Sounds similar to every other school/college. Nothing different is to be expected here. But overall they know what they are teaching. The college have a decent infrastructure and hostels are nice and the rooms are air conditioned and have internet connection. And the most important thing is the college placements .The college have a very remarkable placement record. Almost 90% of the students get on campus placement. The college tries hard to get everyone placed. So overall It may range from 3lpa to 28lpa. The only think I don't like is the college authorities have a lot of hype about cgpa. If you have a high cgpa then your views are listened otherwise u are buzzed off. This practice is almost prevalent in all colleges in India and even more in private colleges. So nothing to do much about it. Attendance is a big issue. Ece department could be considered more lenient than Cse department faculties in term of attendance.70% is a must. You are sure to get debarred from giving end sem exams if u are less than 60% unless u manage to beg from faculty and cross the threshold. So, despite of some cons I would say it's Overall a good college and you must join it.

The best thing about the college are its placements with student getting ample amount of opportunities. The infrastructure of the college is not very good. Students get enough sports facilities which can be accessed anytime during college hours. The multipurpose hall providing for indoor games and two grounds for outdoor games. The faculty is above average with good qualifications. Overall the college life is just above average with various events lined up during the entire academic year.

Good Campus life, good placements but poor faculty.

I am currently in the third year of my graduation and in order to gain praise for my college, I won't fake it. Personally,I feel that my college has some good Infrastructure and placements but faculty is bit of a concern and should be looked upon. I shall look to provide a detailed review about my college. Infrastructure When compared to other universities, the college certainly has a pretty good infrastructure. The hostels are nice, the rooms are air conditioned and the internet connection can be pretty fast at times. Crowd 20% are rich enough who came here for just a degree and it doesn’t matter to them what happens in their academics and they are rarely seen in college. 20% are always in their books and they only desire to get dream package, great ranks in MBA or GATE or GRE. Rest 60% enjoy the college life and have fun. Faculty I was in the Computer Science department and there certainly are a few good people who deliver very interesting lectures, but the list dwindles down pretty quickly. I'm sure every department has some nice people but otherwise I found the faculty to be very uninspiring, unsupportive, demoralizing and judgemental. A lot of the remaining faculty seems to have very limited understanding or knowledge of the industry and current practices. Extra curricular activities The college conducts extra curricular activities every now and then and thus besides academics also focuses on art, music, dance, sports, debates and other fields. Many of my seniors have successfully learnt a lot from the college and are now successful artists. The college quenches the thirst of many who just don't want to spend their college in their class. Placements One of the major reason why there is so much hype about this college is its placements. Reputed companies like ashok leyland,Amazon, dell, cognizant, infosys make their way into the college and the number of students placed vary from 70%-75%. Average placement package ranges between 3.5-4 lpa.

The college is decent although the location is poor. The students have good academic records and get placements in reputed companies, however if you're average in coding, TCS is there for you. There are tons of societies and there's an ideal one for everyone. If you have some talent, you're good to go. The campus is not that great though, it's pretty small actually but after some time, you'll get used to it and the *uniform* too. Good luck on your journey!

The college is a great one, though the infrastructure may not be as appealing when compared to other better colleges but it's not bad , classes are comfortable , good AC and all but the infrastructure of 62 is better . It's been only a month since I joined the college but it's great , nice people , nice curriculum , some teachers are very good and some not so good , but overall it's a good college . Before you start comparing it with other colleges just keep in mind that to study CSE , any college is good where you can find people and mentors to motivate and help you , engineering is all about exploring , not about college always .

A great place to be in where you get decent corporate exposure, excellent infrastructure, great faculty and most importantly you get the best placements. The social life is one of the best you can get in an engineering college. Highly reputed private college in NCR. A strong recommendation for a person who is not able to get through IITs or NITs. The fee is little on the higher side - the only drawback.

A Great engineering college

Posted on 04 Sep' 16 by Gaurav Sharma
Batch of 2014 | B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering
Infrastructure: JIIT has the very good infrastructure with a great library and other facilities. The lecture halls are completely modern with all the new facilities included. Faculty: The faculty is very good and are from top notch institutes like IIT,AIIMS etc.The pedagogy and style of teaching are truly of international standards.Students are given industrial exposure and through routine evaluation and presentations, students are continuously evaluated and further it helps in building confidence in students. Placements: They bring so many companies from C grade to A grade companies it's now your choice which companies takes you or take that company Classes are even lesser than any normal UPTU college But yeah after every month college conducts a test namely T1,T2 and T3.So you will be like "yaar Abhi to exams diye they". Overall Experience: A good private college. Consider it one of the best private colleges in North and Central India. Drawback: Very high fee (annual 1.30 lakhs excluding hostel fees) Being in the principal year I have not yet done any entry level position. The school has a decent arrangement cell which endeavors to get the best organizations. Being an Organization represent considerable authority in Data Innovation, a few IT organizations visit the school for arrangements for eg. Amazon, Microsoft, Barclay's, Zomato, SAP, Paytm among others. Understudies are set for occupations that oblige them to do programming, web advancement and so on. The normal compensation bundle is around Rs 5 lakhs for each annum with the most noteworthy bundle being Rs 24 Lakhs for every annum. The arrangement rate for Software engineering understudies is 99% (numerous get more than one offer). The graduated class system is better than sufficiently average and we as often as possible see graduated class going to the school to interface with understudies. Some of them have built up their own new businesses and come to enlist the understudies amid the arrangement season. Hostel accommodation is available. But if you are willing to stay outside college then you should go for flats/P.G. in Indirapuram(Ghaziabad).Average PG cost with food is Rs.8000 per month. Food quality as compared to other colleges is quite good. They provide you a sweet dish daily in the lunch along with milk at night.

Best years of my life

Those were the years that made me learn most about my life. Those were the years when I explored myself. The years of freedom, the time to develop my inner strength. The time when I studied, I played, I learned about life. Yes, that was my college time. The best days of my life. Jaypee Institute of Information Technology moulded me into the person that was deeply hidden inside. The place was like a ‘Home away from home’ which gave me opportunities to participate and grow myself in diverse areas be it education, sports, technical competitions. Supportive and understanding professors helped me throughout the four-year tenure and encouraged me at each and every step I took towards the achievement of my goal. I can proudly say that those were the best days of my life.

I like in hostel in JIIT Sector 62 Noida and daily I travel in JIIT shuttle bus from Sec 62 to 128. The campus is good. There's lots of space to play and recreate. Teachers are also good there but the main issue is that students of JIIT 128 are always treated as inferior to students JIIT 62. But Placements occur together without any discrimination. Here if you study a little bit, believe me, you have 100% chances of getting placed.

Education for Empowerment; Name's JIIT-128

Experience in JIIT-128 has been so far "Good" If we talk about Education. Faculties, Support Staff and Management don't give up, Quality help is always provided, Good Infrastructure is also maintained. The Course relevant to "Engineering" is paid a lot of attention to, Research Work is almost Nil in the college(or not to my knowledge). Frequent Events are presented by JYC "Jaypee-Youth-Club", like "The Converge","Ebullience". After All, the Reputation that the college has built up in Industry during its course is Tremendous and Commendable. Added to it are Facilities like Library, Multi-Purpose Hall, Café, Annapurna, Amphitheater, Playgrounds, Basketball Court, Cricket Nets, Volleyball Nets which serves their purpose at required times. College lacks "Much Needed" Internet-Aid and lack "Out of the Classroom" philosophy(I strongly feel). But a Major Catalyst is the Idea of Education and Knowledge which elevates its standards and fill various cracks here & there.

The college is nice but in a remote area so, no nearby malls and market. The teaching faculty is superb, the teaching pattern is nice and involvement of students in different innovative projects is entertained and appreciated. Also, the placement of this college is much better than the other colleges in NCR region. Although the infrastructure of college is not that good but the minds here are sharp enough to compete with anyone.

I liked the university curriculum. Comparing it to other private colleges in delhi-ncr region it is actually a good university. The college however is not that good. It is at a really bad location with not much means of transportation unless you bring your own. A few of the faculty members are really skilled and knowledgeable. The campus area is also not that good. The placements however are really good and satisfactory. If you can go for the main branch in Sector-62 as that is really great. Not the same can be said about this. The 3-star rating I gave is only on the basis of the university value and nice placement ratio.

JIIT is amongst the best private colleges of northern India. The college has awesome crowd, campus, infrastructure and faculty. It offers above average placements, college life and location. It is a good place to complete your graduation from in if you haven’t cracked IIT. Also, the mess here is quite decent. Not just studies, we also have a fabulous fest every year.
