With rigorous teaching, lab work and clinical exposure, college thrives to produce clinically competent doctors. It has some unique features like; state of the art hospital, biggest critical/emergency care centre in the state, one of the India's first Plastination Museum and one of the biggest Body Donation Camps of the country. College has also taken creative initiatives like 'M+ Club' where it deals with other non-academic skills and values a good doctor must posses. The hostels are quite comfortable, well maintained and hygienic. I personally left KMC Manipal for JSS and I have no regrets. Though, fees is quite high, which is a major factor for student quality intake.

Brilliant Hospital and best exposure.

Batch of 2022 | MBBS
This college has extremely good faculty and provides the level of education for the fees it demands. Especially this college has one of the largest hospitals in india 1800 bed under 1 roof along with more than 100 unpaid beds for the poor and needy.. This means a semi govt. Hospital level exposure along with the availability of the latest instruments. The teachers are very dedicated towards students and each student is allotted a mentor/teacher who guides the student throughout the year. But if Hospitals are concerned(main point in a medical college) this hospital scores way more as the exposure given to students is more. Moreover, the atmosphere of study in this college is commendable.

Batch of 2017 | MBBS
JSS Medical College has come a long way in the past 5 years. With the New Hospital building, the learning and the exposure have got an upgrade. Most of the staff members and faculty are very supportive. I, somehow, personally feel that the language gap for non-kannada speaking students should be seen more as a concern than as a complaint. The faculty should be more empathetic towards it, rather than complaining about something like that.

Academics and patient exposure

Batch of 2017 | MBBS
It is located in the charming city of Mysore. It is a great place academically, and one of the few institutes that really encourage research by undergraduates. They institute provides ample opportunity to try your hand at a range of extracurriculars be in academics through conferences or fest both in-house and outside. The exposure to patients and to foreign faculty(monthly in academic society meetings) is noteworthy. Patient input is decent, the faculty encourages us to learn from them during bedside clinics and encourage us to come after hours as well. Extra skills can be picked up based on personal preferences after hours. They can be stringent with attendance and the crowd may not always be to your liking. But all said it's a wonderful institute to study at. Mysore is also a great city to explore.
