About KEC Erode

Kongu Engineering College (KEC) is an autonomous college established by the Kongu Vellalar Institute of Technology Trust in 1984. The college is affiliated to Anna University Chennai. KEC Erode is accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ grade. The institute is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). In NIRF Engineering Rankings 2020, the college got 135th position. As per the website of the college, the mission of Kongu Engineering College is to give value based education to the engineering and management students and develop quality professionals. The college campus is spread over an area of 167 acres and there are a total of 516 faculty members at the institute. The institute has secured 164th rank in the Engineering category in NIRF 2021 Ranking with a score of 34.38 out of 100.

KEC Erode offers undergraduate (B.E., B.Tech), postgraduate (M.Tech., M.B.A., M.C.A.) and doctoral (ph.D) courses. The institute offers admission to B.Sc. and M.Sc. programmes on merit basis. Whereas, for B.Tech admissions, candidates are required to participate in TNEA counselling. TANCET marks are accepted for admission in M.Tech., M.E. and M.B.A. courses. The institute focuses on both academic and non academic facilities and infrastructure for the students. There is a well-stocked library with more than 1 lakh books and 247 journals. Accommodation facilities are also available. The institute has separate hostels for boys and girls students. Kongu Engineering College Erode Scholarships

The final year students of the college are provided with numerous job opportunities. To make sure adequate job opportunities are available for students, the college established a placement cell in 1998. Kongu Engineering College placement cell maintains relationships with various organisations and invites them to hire students. It is responsible for all the activities related to KEC Erode placements. The placement cell conducts technical programmes for the students to improve their soft skills. Furthermore, to improve quantitative aptitude, reasoning, and verbal ability the placement also organises online tests for students. Apart from placements, the placement cell also offers internship opportunities to the non-final year students. KEC Erode Scholarship

Every year numerous students are provided with scholarships and financial aid by the college. In the year 2020, the scholarship amount of Rs. 2,11,860 was given to the students. Engineering College scholarships are offered to students with exceptional records in academics and sports. The students of the college can also avail a national level scholarship - Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS). The PMSSS is for Jammu & Kashmir students and aims at encouraging and empowering J&K students to pursue higher studies. KEC Erode also provides awards to students with excellent academic performance. As per Kongu Engineering College scholarship policy, the top 5% of students from each class are given 50% tuition fee concession. Furthermore, AICTE tuition fee waiver scheme is also available for students. Every year full fee concession for the entire duration of the programme is provided to 25 students who have completed their education from government schools and are from economically backward sections.
