Madhav Institute of Technology and Science, Gwalior was established in 1957. The Institute was established by His Highness Sir Jiwaji Rao Scindia. MITS Gwalior is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), Bhopal. The Institute is spread over an area of 44.6 acres of land. The college is recognised by University Grants Commission (UGC) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The Institute also offers various infrastructural and academic facilities to the students, faculty and staff members of the Institute.

Madhav Institute of Technology and Science is located in Thatipur, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. The nearest airport from the Institute is the Gwalior Airport which is 7.7 km away and students can reach the campus in approximately 14 mins. The nearest railway station from MITS Gwalior is the Gwalior Junction Railway Station which is 2.2 km away and students can reach the campus in about 5 mins. Students can also get down at MITS Bus Stand which is 300 m away and students can then reach the campus by covering a walking distance.

Clubs, Committees & Societies:-

• National Service Scheme (NSS)- National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Youth Programme which is established under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Students of Madhav Institute of Technology and Science, Gwalior have also conducted various programmes under this scheme including international yoga day, blood donation, leprosy campaign, swachh bharat, literary campaign, mass cleaning, mass tree plantation, road traffic awareness, sand sculpturing, polio vaccine, disaster management, PFMS training etc. to spread awareness among the common people.
• IEEE- Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers of MITS Gwalior has been formed to meet the standards of the advancing technology. IEEE is a platform where students get to know and learn about engineering, computing, and technology information. IEEE also collaborates with various institutes and universities for the development of students in science, math, engineering, and technology.
• ASCE- The American Society of Madhav Institute of Technology and Science is a society which consists of students belonging to the Mechanical department. The society provides education and training to students by organising various events like pro-e classes, industrial visits, workshops, quizzes etc.
• SAE- Society for Automotive Engineers consist of members who organise workshops to develop their skills in the field of mechanical engineering. This is a club of all the budding engineers who take part in a series of workshops to know about the technological developments of Mechanical Engineering and other related fields.
• CSI- Computer Society of India (CSI) of MITS Gwalior organise various expert talks, workshops and seminars to know about the technological developments related to the field of Computer Science and Engineering, Image Processing, Communication, Machine Learning and Information Technology.
• ISTE- Indian Society for Technical Education has been developed by Madhav Institute of Technology and Science Gwalior for the overall development of students and teachers. Various programmes on career development of teachers and personality development of students are conducted so that they can also develop their skills and knowledge.
• IETE- The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers have been developed to educate the students regarding the advancement of Science and Technology of Electronics, Telecommunication & IT. Various meetings, conferences, symposia, and exhibitions are also conducted for the members of the association to make them aware of the various opportunities related to different fields.
• IET- The Institution of Engineering and Technology has been formed to make the world a better place by implementing the various aspects of engineering and technology.

• National Cadet Corps (N.C.C)- N.C.C has been formed inside MIT Gwalior to show the importance of living a disciplined life among students which also helps them contribute their part towards the development of the country. The students of the N.C.C group also take part in various other activities including Para Sailing, Gliding, Para dropping, Training Camps, National Integration Camps, Rock climbing and Mountaineering activities Boat Pulling/Sailing and Ship Modelling etc.

• MITS AID Club
• Arts Club- Arts Club of Madhav Institute of Technology and Science aims to nurture the skills of students in the field of arts. Students join this club to hone their skills in fine arts and learn new skills and techniques.
• Dance Club- This Club helps students hone and develop their skills in dancing. Students interested in dancing are members of this Club where they learn and practice different forms of dance including contemporary, hip-hop, classical, salsa, free-style etc. The club is a platform for budding and professional dancers which are students at Madhav Institute of Technology and Science Gwalior.
• Music Club- This Club deals with all musical activities and helps students develop their musical skills. Members of this club learn and practice different forms of music which help them develop their skills. The members of this club also participate in different music fests and events conducted by Madhav Institute of Technology and Science Gwalior.
• Sports Club- The Sports Club of MITS Gwalior aims to encourage the students to participate in different sports. Members of this club have also participated in different sports events and competitions inside and outside the Institute campus.
• Fitness Club- The Fitness Club of Madhav Institute of Technology and Science Gwalior has been formed to spread the importance of living a healthy and fit lifestyle among students. Various programmes are conducted to educate the students about the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle.
• Naatya Munch- Natya Munch consist of dancers who share a common interest and skills in dancing. Members of this club have also participated in different events and fests conducted inside MIT.
• Wander Lust- Wanderlust Club of MITS Gwalior consist of members who are interested in travelling and explore nature.
• Personality Development Club- The Personality Development Club of Madhav Institute of Technology and Science is formed to encourage the young generation by developing self confidence and communication skills through different programmes and activities. All the students are motivated to develop positivity in them to make right choices in their personal life as well as academics. The members of this club encourage each other and work together towards developing their speaking skills.
• Career Counselling Club- Career Counselling Club consists of members where students are provided counselling sessions regarding any distress faced by them. Students of MITS Gwalior are free to discuss and share problems regarding their mental health and academic career and the counselors will provide guidance to them. All the counselors are professionally trained and the sessions are conducted in a confidential and peaceful environment.
• Querencia Literary Club- This Club helps students improve their English and literary skills so that they excel in it. Literature is a vital part in a student’s life and this Club makes sure that students develop their vocabulary. Different authors and good literary work of a range of literary figures are discussed and promoted in the group. 
• Photography & Film Club- The Photography & Film Club captures all the wonderful moments of joy and happiness. All the pictures and videos needed to be taken are clicked and edited by the members of this club. This club provides a platform to students where they can show their creativity in terms of photography. It also motivates other students of the Madhav Institute of Technology and Science to join this club so that they can learn and develop skills on photography.

• MITS CODE WAR- This Club consists of members who are interested in enhancing their coding skills. Students of Madhav Institute of Technology and Science Gwalior are motivated to join this club so that they can learn new algorithms and modules related to coding. The members of this club also organise coding competitions which help students perform better and excel in coding.
• Innovation Club- The members of this Club aim to understand and develop new products by implementing their ideas and knowledge into it. Students of this club gather  information by engaging themselves in discussions among each other. This club mainly focuses on learning and sharing knowledge about creating new flying models including miniature sized airplanes, drones, gliders etc.
• Girls Empowerment Club- The Girls Empowerment Club has been formed by MIT to teach the students about the rights and responsibilities of girls. Girl students are made aware about their rights and when to use it against any wrongs done to them.
• Social Media Awareness Club- The Socia Media Awareness Club of Madhav Institute of Technology and Science has been formed to educate students about the merits and demerits of social media. The social media is a platform which can be used both in a right or wrong way so, students are made aware of its importance and other disadvantages through various training programmes.
• Disaster Management Awareness Club- This Club has been formed to provide information on disaster management by demonstrating skills on tackling tough situations during any disaster.
• Information & Broadcast Club
• Red Ribbon Club- Red Ribbon is recognised as a symbol for HIV/AIDS awareness which is formed to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS among the young generation and common people. Various programmes are also conducted to educate people more about HIV/AIDS.
