Madras Institute of Technology offers undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Phil and Ph.D programmes. Madras Institute of Technology courses are offered in both full-time and part-time mode. The college offers courses in the fields of engineering, science, technology, etc. MIT Chennai courses are offered in the following streams: B.E, B.Tech, M.E, M.Tech, M.Sc., M.Phil and Ph.D. For admission to the courses, candidates first have to meet the eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria of the Madras Institute of Technology UG course (full time) is passing marks in 10+2 with minimum 45% average marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. For M.E/M.Tech (full time), candidates should have minimum 50% marks in graduation or should have passed diploma. Candidates also have to appear for TANCET/GATE. Candidates should have passing marks in bachelor’s degree and master’s degree for M.Sc. and M.Phil programmes respectively. Minimum 55% marks is required in master’s degree for Ph.D. The eligibility criteria of Madras Institute of Technology courses is given below in the table.

MIT have wifi trees and good lab facilities. Big library also available we can take books with our id card. Food quality is ok but not much greater.campus cleaning also that's like. Sports facilities is good .

It has built some new buildings in recent times but it has a lot of old buildings which are moderately maintained.lab equipments are some times faulty sometimes .living spaces are cleaned daily and maintained by NSS and food is moderately hygienic and cheap
