BE (Petrochemical) is a four-year course of eight semesters (5 papers each) conducted and assessed by the University of Pune. The degree course in petrochemical Engineering has been structured in such a manner that it will meet the present and future requirements of the industry and the individuals. Petrochemical degree course at the University of Pune is a specialized chemical engineering course with emphasis on refining operations and petrochemical technology. The four year undergraduate program has full emphasis on all Core Chemical Engineering subjects such as Fluid Mechanics, Process Calculations, Heat Transfer, Mass Transfer and Chemical Reaction Engineering. Additional inputs are given to cover subjects such as Petrochemical Processes, Refinery Process Design and Refining Operations & Technology. So as to make this package all inclusive, subjects such as Fine Chemical Industry, Green Chemistry, Environmental Engineering & Process Modeling and Simulation have also been included. . So that a graduate be self sufficient with required Basics. Petrochemical engineering graduates therefore will be in a position to shoulder responsibilities in refineries, petrochemical plants as well as downstream petroleum industries.
Allocation of Seats:
i) Seats for Maharashtra Domicile 70% of Intake
ii) Seats for All India Candidates 30% of intake
iii) Seats for Foreign Nationals / OCI 10% of Intake (Over & sanctioned intake)
iv) Seats for CIW in Gulf & South East Asia 5% of Intake (Over & sanctioned intake)
(i) The Candidate should be an Indian National;
(ii) Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical Vocational subjects, and obtained at least 50 % marks (at least 45 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together; and
iii) An obtained score in MHT-CET conducted by the Competent Authority.
(iii) An obtained score in JEE (Main) conducted by the Competent Authority.
(iv) Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 50 % marks (at least 45 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only);
