A constituent college of Malla Reddy Group of Institutions (MRGI), Malla Reddy College of Engineering and Technology Hyderabad (MRCET Hyderabad) was established in 2004. Malla Reddy College of Engineering and Technology Hyderabad is located in Hyderabad, Telangana. The total students enrollment is more than 3000 and there are more than 300 faculty members. MRCET Hyderabad offers courses at different levels like - UG, PG and PhD. More than 15 courses are offered by the college. At the UG level, MRCET Hyderabad offers BTech with 10 specializations. At the PG level, MTech and MBA are offered by Malla Reddy College of Engineering and Technology Hyderabad and it also offers a research program - PhD in Electronics and Communication Engineering. MRCET Hyderabad is part of the Malla Reddy Institutions. There are a total of 17 Malla Reddy Institutions with over 30 thousand students and 2000 faculty.

Malla Reddy College of Engineering and Technology Hyderabad has been accredited by the NBA (Tier-1). It has been declared as an autonomous institution by UGC and has been approved by AICTE. MRCET Hyderabad is permanently affiliated to JNTUH and it has been approved by the Government of Telangana.

Candidates are offered admissions based on the rank they secure in these examinations. 70% of the seats are filled through TS EAMCET while the rest 30% seats are filled through management /NRI quota. The admission for MTech is based on the score obtained in entrance examinations like GATE/TSPGECET/TSICET.
