Admission Process 2021
MIT College of Engineering, Pune is now a part of MIT-World Peace University (MIT-WPU). MIT College of Engineering, Pune is now the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of MIT-WPU. The Faculty has 9 schools, which include School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Computer Engineering & Technology, School of Electronics & Communication Engineering, School of Civil Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering, School of Chemical Engineering, School of Polymer Engineering, School of Petroleum Engineering, and School of Design. The institute offers B.Tech and M.Tech and Ph.D. programmes in engineering. The admission process of B.Tech is handled by the office of the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra State, Mumbai. Students need to appear for MAHA-CET and JEE Main. Counselling for the MAHA-CET is conducted by the CAP. M.Tech admission is based on GATE examination. To get admission to PhD programmes candidates need to appear for an Entrance Test conducted by the Savitribai Phule Pune University. For Diploma Programmes:
The admission process of Polytechnic Diploma is handled by the office of the Directorate of Technical Education(DTE), Maharashtra State, Mumbai.
Students need to apply online through the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra.
The candidates get shortlisted based on the Centralized Admission Process (CAP), conducted by (DTE).
Shortlisted candidates have to report to Application Form Receipt Centre (ARC) as per CAP rounds I, II and III.
Finally, candidates have to report to the allotment institute with all Original Documents and prescribed fees within scheduled dates.
For B.Tech Programmes:
Candidates belonging to Maharashtra State have to appear for MHT-CET. Candidates belonging to Other than Maharashtra state (OMS) required to appear for the entrance test- ( MHT-CET) or JEE Main.
The admission for first-year engineering degree courses is done through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP).
To become eligible for CAP the candidates need to register their application online.
Candidates will be shortlisted for CAP rounds based on their score in the entrance exam and preferences given by them for courses and colleges.
Shortlisted candidates have to report to Application Form Receipt Centre (ARC) for document verification, as per CAP Rounds.
Finally, candidates have to report to the allotment institute with all Original Documents and prescribed fees within scheduled dates.
For M.Tech Programmes:
Candidates belonging to Maharashtra State and other than Maharashtra State (OMS) have to appear for GATE.
The admission for postgraduate engineering degree courses is done through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP).
To become eligible for CAP the candidates need to register their application online based on GATE scores.
Candidates who have appeared GATE and have marks above qualifying marks are only eligible for admission through CAP.
Shortlisted candidates have to report to Application Form Receipt Centre (ARC) as per CAP Round I, II and III.
The candidate who has got allotment must report & confirm his/her admission by fulfilling necessary procedures.
For Ph. D. Admission:
The candidates need to appear for a PhD Entrance Test and Interview/Viva-Voce conducted by Savitribai Phule Pune University.
The admissions shall be processed through the (Department Research Committee/Central Research Committee).
The candidates who have qualified in the entrance test will be called for interview/viva-voce. The document verification of respective candidates shall also be carried out at the time of interview/viva-voce.
The general merit list for the M.Phil./Ph.D. programme shall be prepared by the University, on the basis of performance of the candidate in the entrance test and the interview/viva-voce.
Candidates who are qualified UGC NET/SET/JRF will be exempted only from Ph.D. Entrance Test.
