NIFT Kannur Admission Process

NIFT Kannur offers admission to 7 UG and PG courses. To get admission candidates need to qualify for an entrance test after the Class 12th board exams. Only selected candidates who will attain the cut-off marks will be called for admission. The detailed admission process is mentioned below as per the courses.

NIFT, Kannur B.Des Admission 2023

To get admission into the UG course-B.Des (textile design), B.Des (knitwear design), B.Des (fashion design), B.Des (fashion communication), a candidate must fulfil the prescribed age and educational qualification criteria. The maximum age should be less than 24 years (29 years in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category). The candidate must have passed the 10+2 level of examination.

The candidates for the UG design programmes have to take an entrance exam consisting of a creative ability test (CAT) and a general ability test (GAT). If the candidate gets shortlisted on the basis of the written test, then they have to appear for a situation test.

NIFT, Kannur B.FTech Admission 2023

To get admission into the UG course B.FTech (apparel production), a candidate must fulfil the prescribed age and educational qualification criteria. The maximum age should be less than 24 years (29 years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category). The candidate must have passed the 10+2 level of examination with physics and mathematics. The candidates for this course have to take an entrance exam consisting of a general ability test (GAT).

NIFT, Kannur M.F.M Admission 2023

There is no age limit when it comes to applying for the PG programmes however the basic educational qualification has to be met, which is graduation in any discipline. The candidates will have to take an entrance exam consisting of a general ability test (GAT). If the candidate gets shortlisted on the basis of the entrance exam, then they have to undergo a personal interview (PI).

Candidates have to apply online at www.nift.ac.in.
The application fee has to be paid through an online payment gateway. The non-refundable fees for general candidates is ₹3000, while that for the SC/ST/PWD category candidates is ₹1500.
All eligible candidates would have to go through the examination process mentioned above.
A Paper Based Test (PBT) for all UG and PG Programmes will be conducted in 32 cities. The candidate must select three choices for the centre in order of preference.
On the basis of information given in the NIFT Application Forms, Admit Cards of provisionally eligible candidates will be available for download from the official website.

The following documents along with the photocopies shall be required for Admission after qualifying the entrance examination. Copies of documents will be self-attested and uploaded on the website.The original certificates, except the medical certificate, will be checked and returned to the candidate after verification at respective Campuses where Admission is offered.

12th class marks Sheet. In case of admission to PG courses, the candidates will also be required to upload the mark sheet of the qualifying degree examination.
Proof of date of birth
SC/ST/PWD supported with requisite Certificate. For State Domicile seats the status of domicile will be decided by the address of school/college (qualifying degree) last attended, whichever is applicable.
