The program is curated in a way that allows design students to identify areas of interest within the field of Fashion Styling and Image Design.
The course covers 3 major areas of Styling:
At the initial level, it facilitates in-depth learning that revolves around various aspects related to Fashion Styling, including style visualization & editing, image design & development, makeover, digital fashion styling, and social media, to name a few. The practice of engaging students in live experiences is started at the basic level so that a fair mix of theoretical, digital, and practical knowledge is integrated into the learning system. The ability of the students will extend into various branches such as ideation, concept development, story or look realisation, theme integration, forming a brand image, identifying trends, mapping out fashion influences, and production feasibility.
During the middle phase of the course, students are given opportunities to experience learning beyond the Academy’s boundaries through interactions with experts in design and art-related fields, along with interactions from well-known professionals from the fashion styling, image design, media, blogging, and grooming industry. They provided with some much-needed exposure through industry visits to fashion studios, hair styling & make-up boutiques, advertising firms, photography & film studios, and fashion retail markets to understand the context of their learning and its ultimate application.
At a higher level, the course helps in the development of independent learning and cross-course interaction – interdisciplinary learning is promoted through independent projects that will enable the students to graduate as highly competent professionals who are capable of decision-making as well as hands-on competencies suited to fashion labels and brands, retail clothing outlets, print media, electronic media, corporate & organisations, forecasting agencies, fashion or entertainment media, and various relevant enterprises.
