Pondicherry University Karaikal Campus was established in 2007. The Karaikal campus of Pondicherry University is a premier institute for higher education. Karaikal is one of the main campuses of Pondicherry University. The other one is located at  Port Blair. The varsity 

offers postgraduate and doctoral degrees in the field of management, computer applications, commerce, business administration, IT and sciences. The Karaikal campus of Pondicherry University offers multiple courses such as M.Sc Computer Science, MCA, MBA, Ph.D Computer Science and Engineering, MBA Insurance Management, Ph.D Management, M.Com Business Finance, Ph.D Computer Science and Engineering Part Time.
